    • In various embodiments, a trocar cannula may be configured for insertion into an eye to facilitate insertion and removal of instruments during surgery. The cannula may be affixed to an overcap (to inhibit rotation of the overcap relative to the cannula) that includes a seal. In some embodiments, the seal may be overmolded into the overcap or may include a wafer that is fixed between the cannula and the overcap to inhibit rotation relative to the cannula and the overcap. In some embodiments, the cannula and overcap may snap together through a tab/slot interface in a permanent fashion such that the cannula and overcap may not be separated without damaging the cannula or overcap. In some embodiments, a vent cannula may be receivable in the slit of the seal for allowing fluids to vent from the eye through the cannula (which may include an indentation to frictionally engage the vent).

The media services are connected to an interoperable media services bus by creating a connector API for each service, thereby enabling the media services to exchange messages related to transactions to be performed involving media assets and/or metadata associated with media assets. To support complex transactions involving coordinated activity by multiple media services, an orchestration service advantageously performs a coordinated sequence of request/response transactions, referred to as a “workflow.” The workflow may include requests conditional on responses to previous requests, multiple parallel requests, a combination of synchronous and asynchronous requests, and so on. Multiple workflows may be managed concurrently.

    • A cursor control stick includes a rigid tube having an outwardly-tapering conical throughbore and horizontal protrusions at its base, and a plunger having an outwardly-tapering conical body shaped in correspondence with the throughbore. The plunger slidably fits inside the rigid tube and includes a neck which extends beyond the rigid tube and which is adapted to be manipulated by the user. Electrically-conductive biasing means is disposed beneath and in contact with the plunger, and pressure sensitive resistive material is disposed beneath and in contact with the horizontal protrusions. A base containing electrical circuitry is disposed beneath both the electrically-conductive biasing means and the pressure sensitive resistive material. The plunger is manipulable by the user between a depressed position and an undepressed position such that in the undepressed position the conical body of the plunger engages the conical throughbore of the rigid tube, and in the depressed position the conical body disengages the conical throughbore as the plunger moves downwardly inside the rigid tube. In response to a lateral force applied to the plunger in the undepressed position, the horizontal protrusions deform the pressure sensitive resistive material to complete an electric circuit which signals movement of the cursor on the computer screen. In the depressed position, the electrically-conductive biasing means is deformed so that the electrically-conductive biasing means contacts the base containing electrical circuitry and completes an electric circuit thereon which signals selection of an item on the computer screen.

The method further comprises provisioning each virtualized assembly environment with content assets corresponding respectively to its customized linear channel stream, and assembling the customized linear channel streams using the respective virtualized assembly environments. The cloud based content assembly system is configured to enable substantially concurrent use of shared infrastructure resources by the virtualized assembly environments.
