摘要： A multilayer film facestock for labels is described which comprises a base layer having an upper surface and a lower surface, and at least a first skin layer bonded to the upper surface of the base layer by a tie layer wherein the base layer comprises a propylene homopolymer or copolymer, or a blend of a propylene homopolymer and at least one propylene copolymer, and the first skin layer consists essentially of at least one polyethylene having a density of about 0.940 g/cm3 or less, wherein the multilayer facestock is not oriented. Adhesive containing multilayer labelstocks for use in adhesive labels also are described which comprise the multilayer film facestock described above and an adhesive layer adhesively joined to the lower surface of the base layer. Labels prepared from the facestock and the labelstock also are described.

摘要： This invention relates to a muitilayer tamper-evident label comprising: (A) a first and second layer of polymeric film, wherein each layer has an upper and lower surface and the lower surface of the first layer contacts the upper surface of the second layer at a separation interface, (B) a heat-sealable layer, having an upper and lower surface, wherein the lower surface of the heat-sealable layer is bonded to the upper surface of the first layer, and (C) an adhesive layer, having an upper and lower surface, wherein the upper surface of the adhesive layer is bonded to lower surface of the second layer. In another aspect the invention relates to an article overwrapped in a packaging wrap material and having the tamper evident label inside and bonded to the packaging wrap. In another embodiment, the invention relates a method of preparing a multilayer tamper evident label comprising the steps of (A) coextruding a film having a heat sealable layer, a first layer and a second layer each having an upper and lower surface, wherein the lower surface of the first layer contacts the upper surface of the second layer at a separation interface and the upper surface of the first layer is bonded to the lower surface of the heat sealable layer, and (B) forming an adhesive layer with an upper and lower surface, where upper surface of the adhesive layer is bonded to the lower surface of the second layer. The multilayer tamper evident label provides information about the integrity of the packaging. The label and method afford evidence of tampering and/or repackaging of an article.

摘要： In one embodiment, the invention relates to an ink-imprinted and reusable multilayer cling film of at least one layer for use in combination with a substrate having a rigid smooth surface comprising a non-vinyl flexible polymer cling film which has two smooth surfaces, is substantially free of added plasticizer and provides a 180° peel force after application to glass of from about 30 to about 2500 gms after aging in a 140° F. oven for 72 hours. In another embodiment, the invention relates to an ink-printed and reusable multilayer cling film of at least two layers which can cling to substrates having a rigid smooth surface without the use of an adhesive material. For example, such multilayer cling film may comprise: (A) a first layer of at least one thermoplastic polymer film having an ink-imprinted upper surface and a smooth lower surface; and (B) a second layer which is a polymeric cling film having an upper surface and a lower surface and comprising at least one non-vinyl thermoplastic elastomer wherein the upper surface of the second layer is in contact with and adhered to the lower surface of the first layer. In yet another embodiment, the invention relates to an article comprising a substrate having a rigid smooth surface and an ink-imprinted flexible polymeric cling film of at least two layers which are affixed to the smooth surface of the substrate without adhesive whereby the cling film is removably adhered to the substrate.

摘要： Adjoining strata of pressure-sensitive adhesive are transferred to a package substrate. The two outermost adhesive strata have different adhesion to the substrate. The adhesive strata are used as a reclosable fastener and are intermixed in the course of reclosing and reopening the package, the action being such as to advantageously compensate for contamination occurring at the reseal interface while maintaining the status quo at the permanent interface.
