摘要： A method and apparatus for selecting a destination in a vehicle navigation system are described. The vehicle navigation system includes a display and a selection control. A first destination is selected from a primary list of destinations in response to a selection signal generated by the selection control. The first destination is placed on a secondary list of destinations in response to its selection. The secondary list includes previously selected destinations from the primary list. For subsequent destination selections, the primary and secondary lists are presented on the display thereby facilitating selection of destinations from both the primary and secondary lists. A feature by which the system may search for a destination across categories is also described.

摘要： It is an object of the present invention to provide a mounting structure of a thermal shield for an oil pump which makes it possible to securely mount the thermal shield at one point with high reliability and at a low cost. To achieve this object, a thermal shield for preventing radiant heat from an exhaust pipe from being transmitted to an oil pump is securely clamped to a support plate portion of a bracket which is disposed contiguous to the thermal shield. The thermal shield and the bracket are provided with an engaging protrusion portion and a positioning hole respectively. The thermal shield and the bracket are positioned through engagement of the engaging protrusion portion with the positioning hole.

摘要： An on-board automobile navigation system provides route guidance instructions to a user. The system detects a power-down of the vehicle and, in response, determines whether to resume route guidance in response to the next start-up of the vehicle. This determination is made prior to powering down the system. The determination is based on the current position of the vehicle and the computed route. If a determination was made to resume guidance after start-up, the selected destination and the computed route are saved in memory before powering down the system. If a determination was made to resume guidance, then in response to the next start-up of the vehicle, the selected destination and the computed route of the vehicle are recalled from memory, and route guidance is resumed from the current position of the vehicle.

摘要： A vanity case is provided in which a pair of a first hinge piece and a second hinge piece are formed in one of the case body and the lid, and a hinge block is formed in the other one of the case body and the lid and arranged between the first and the second hinge pieces. A convex portion is formed in one of the second hinge piece and the hinge block facing to the second hinge piece. A concave portion is formed in the other of the second hinge piece and the hinge block facing to the second hinge piece. A friction member is provided in the concave portion to brake the rotational speed of the lid due to the torsion spring by holding the friction member under pressure between the concave portion and the convex portion. A protrusion is provided on one of an outer circumference of the convex portion and an inner circumference of the concave portion for braking the rotational speed of the lid by sliding contact with the other one of the outer circumference of the convex portion and the inner circumference of the concave portion. A recessed circumferential portion is formed between the outer circumference of the convex portion and the inner circumference of the concave portion so as to release the sliding contact of the braking protrusion at least at the closed position of the lid.
