    • A camera accessory is equipped with an accessory mount assuming a bayonet structure with the first through the third tabs set over intervals along a circumferential direction and projecting from an inner side of the accessory toward an outer side. The camera accessory mount is structured so that insertion of the accessory mount is allowed as long as the accessory mount is inserted at a correct interlock phase without any of the first through the third tabs coming into contact with any of three camera body-side tabs, and that insertion of the accessory mount is disallowed if the accessory mount is positioned at a phase other than the correct interlock phase with at least two tabs coming into contact with at least two of the camera body-side tabs. The first through the third tabs extend along varying lengths along the circumferential direction. The first tab has the greatest length. The three tabs include first side ends, which are leading ends of the three tabs to engage the accessory mount at the correct interlock phase and second side ends located on a side opposite from the first side ends. When the first tab and either the second or third tab comes into contact with two of the camera body-side tabs at a total of two contact locations, contact achieved by the first tab is located near the second side end thereof.

    • A camera capable of closing a barrier in accordance with need, even an interchangeable lens is mounted. The camera is provided with a connection portion, a barrier member and a barrier control section. The connection portion is detachably connected with the interchangeable lens and is provided with an aperture portion, which allows object light to pass therethrough. The barrier member is movably provided, in the state the interchangeable lens is connected with the connection portion, between a closed position, the barrier member closes off the aperture portion of the connection portion, and an open position, the barrier member is withdrawn from the light path. The barrier control section judges a state of mounting of the interchangeable lens to the connection portion, controls the barrier member to the closed position if the interchangeable lens is not mounted, and to the open position if mounted and a predetermined first condition is satisfied.

    • A caulking pin joint for use with a light shielding blade in a shutter or aperture mechanism of a camera. The caulking pin has a disc-shaped head, a circular protrusion depending therefrom, and a hollow-circular segment depending from the circular protrusion. The actuation arm of the shutter or aperture rests on the head, while the light shielding blade rests on the circular protrusion. The hollow circular section is then spread outward so as to rotatably secure the actuator arm to the light shielding blade. The interior surface of the hollow circular section is chamfered such that when it is folded over on top of the light shielding blade, it presents only a small smooth protuberance from the light shielding blade. This allows a second light shielding blade to be positioned close to the first light shielding blade without fear of collisions or interference between the blades. The circular protrusion upon which the light shielding blade rests, may be provided with a surface inclined up to and including 15.degree. for receiving the light shielding blade. A punch and dye is used to deform both the hollow section and the periphery of the insertion hole in the light shielding blade.
