摘要： A wireless communication device that dynamically escalates media transmission handling on the resident computer platform operating system through passing priority data bundles that include media directly from an application programming interface to the wireless communication interface. The application programming interface generates an outgoing priority data bundle including media, and a media handler directs the outgoing priority data bundle directly to the wireless communication interface for transmission without handling of the outgoing priority data bundle by other software layers of the operating system. The same priority handling can be done with incoming data bundles received at the wireless communication interface and being sent to an application programming interface.

摘要： In an embodiment, a communication entity receives, during a communication session, media to be transmitted in association with the communication session at least between first and second user equipments (UEs). The communication entity detects a session disruption (e.g., a signal fade condition, backhaul congestion, etc.) during the communication session. In response to the detection of the session disruption, the communication entity records the received media. Upon detecting that the session disruption is no longer present, the communication entity transmits the recorded media. In an example, the communication entity can correspond to one of the UEs in the communication session such that the received media is received from a user of the respective UE, or alternatively to an application server that is arbitrating the session for the UEs such that the received media is received from one of the UEs in the communication session.

The wireless communication device selectively transmits at least group-directed voice communication data to other members of a communication group, such as a push-to-talk (PTT) group, in a communication channel having a limited bandwidth thereof, and can selectively transmit secondary data in the same communication channel. A group-communication server preferably receives the voice communication data and secondary data and selectively transmits at least the voice communication data to other member wireless communication devices of the communication group. In one embodiment, the wireless communication device reduces the data size of the voice communication data to a second data size that is less than the bandwidth of the communication channel such that secondary data can be transmitted within the communication channel.
