    • A fluoridation apparatus is disclosed that is adapted to be attached to a water faucet for introducing minute concentrations of fluoride into the drinking water. The fluoridation apparatus comprises a main chamber and an adjacent reservoir chamber. The main chamber has an inlet in its upper portion for coupling to a water faucet and an outlet in its lowermost portion. By-pass and return conduits are provided for by-passing a portion of the water flowing through the main chamber into the reservoir chamber. The by-pass conduit includes a restriction formed therein, the flow through which is laminar. A quantity of fluoride compound is disposed within the reservoir of the adjacent chamber to saturate the water in the reservoir with fluoride ions. A proportionalizer is positioned within the main chamber forming a barrier between the inlet and outlet with the barrier having a plurality of relatively small conduits extending therethrough. The plurality of conduits divide the total flow into many separate flows to create a laminar flow condition in the proportionalizer. During operation (when the faucet water is turned on), a portion of the water passing through the main chamber is by-passed through the reservoir chamber to be saturated with fluoride particles. As the water flow continues, the fluoride saturated water is returned to the main chamber for mixing with the main stream of water passing through the proportionalizer.

    • This invention relates to self-locking screws and thread rolling dies for making such screws. The self-locking result is achieved by a rib which may be continuous or discontinuous in the flank or flanks of one or more turns of the threads over a selective length of the screw. The outermost face of the rib is generally parallel to the mating threads so that with standard threads it is disposed at approximately 60* with respect to the oppositely disposed flank on the same thread to provide initial compression and subsequent resilient bending of the rib without scoring the mating thread despite variations in fit. The screw threads and ribs therein may be made by the use of conventional flat or circular thread rolling dies in which certain selective threads in at least one of the dies, preferably the movable die, have been reformed over a suitable length in a corresponding manner.

    • A method for predeterming the force imposed upon the mold in an injection-molding machine. The force applied to the mold in compression is equal to the tension force on the tie bars and produces a predictable elongation. By setting the mold height adjustment to a predetermined quantity slightly less than the true mold height, the operator predetermines the force applied to the mold. The increment of mold height adjustment from true mold height is selected by an indicator which includes a graduated circular plate which rotates with a tie bar nut adjacent to a stationary pointer. The angular displacement of the associated tie bar nut is a function of the desired predetermined force on the tie bars.

    • A motor control for controlling the output torque condition of an induction motor includes a first signal means for generating a torque command signal. A second signal means is coupled to the motor for providing a signal indicative of the rotor frequency of the motor. A stator winding energization means is coupled to both of the signal means for establishing a slip frequency in the motor in accordance with the torque command signal. A power supply means is coupled to the first signal means for regulating the magnitude of the stator current as predetermined functions of the torque command signal. The phase displacement of the stator current may ne altered as a predetermined function of the torque command signal. By making the torque command signal proportional to speed error, the speed control of induction motors may also be obtained.
