The systems, methods, and programs (1) output the feature information stored in the feature database and input map information constituting the map database, the map information being generated based on the output feature information, or (2) generate map information constituting the map database on the basis of the feature information stored in the feature database.

摘要： A goal direction mark and a distance to a goal are indicated when the car has approached the end point of route. When the car has deviated from the guide route to the goal or is running backwards on the guide route, there is indicated a mark to inform the direction of progress to the goal on the guide route. When the car has deviated from the guide route and the guide route is not indicated on the map picture, there is indicated the direction to the goal or the direction to the guide route itself. When the start point of route is remote from the present position at the start of the guidance, a mark is indicated to inform the direction to the start point of route. The driver is enabled to easily determine relying upon the indicated mark in which direction he should proceed. When the map picture is scrolled, there is informed the goal direction, route direction or the direction of progress to the goal on the route. The user therefore is enabled to easily know the direction to the goal.

摘要： The present invention provides a navigation system for guiding a driver along an optimum route by comparing a route with preference on the traveling direction of a vehicle with a route with no preference on the traveling direction thereof when the driver is guided from the current position thereof up to a destination. To search for a route, a first route with preference on the traveling direction of a vehicle is calculated (1) and then, a second route with no preference on the traveling direction thereof is calculated (2). An appropriate route is selected from found routes according to a predetermined setting condition (3) and displayed on screen. The setting condition includes comparison of distances of respective routes and time lengths required for traveling thereon, ease of traveling, width and type of roads, scenery and the like. In a case where distances of the respective routes, for example, are compared with each other, if the distance of the first route is longer than the second route by at least a predetermined value, the second route is displayed, and if the first route is not longer than the second route by at least the predetermined value, the first route is displayed.

摘要： A voice route-guidance system for vehicles which terminates its route-guidance when the vehicle arrives at the destination and even if the present position of the vehicle is measured with low accuracy. An approach judging unit judges that the vehicle approaches a point spaced apart from a destination by a predetermined distance. A guidance termination judging unit further judges whether or not there is a point in which the route-guidance should be carried out between the present vehicle position and the destination. From these judgments, the system judges that the vehicle approaches the point spaced apart from the destination by the predetermined distance and also that all the route-guidance has been terminated. Thus, a termination unit terminates the route-guidance.

摘要： An information display system has a touch panel for selecting an item from a plurality of displayed items by touching. Coordinate differences between each of the coordinates of the plurality of displayed items and the touch position coordinates are calculated. The item having the least calculated coordinate difference is the selected item. Subsequent touchings within a predetermined time and distance are determined to be attempts to correct previous erroneous selections causing probabilities of selecting the previously selected items to be reduced, such as by changing relative calculated coordinate differences to favor selection of other items. Alternatively, a next candidate button can be touched to select the item with the next least coordinate difference.
