    • A distributor-type fuel injection pump is provided with a hydraulic injection adjusting mechanism whose injection adjusting piston adjusts the cam gear unit for driving the pump plunger to execute strokes corresponding to the desired position of the start of injection. The injection adjusting piston defines a control space on one side and a spring space receiving a return spring on the other side. The control space is connected via a throttle bore with the pump interior space which is filled with fuel by a delivery pump. The fuel pressure is adjusted by a pressure control valve. To prevent unstable pressure vibrations on the injection adjusting piston, which leads to defects in the operation of the fuel injection pump, the spring space is connected on one side with the suction side of the delivery pump via a first throttle and on the other side with the pressure side of the delivery pump via a second throttle having a smaller throttle cross section.

    • A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines which has an rpm-proportional injection onset adjusting device, a pressure control valve controlling the supply pressure (phd f), a cold-start acceleration device having a pressure valve associated with the pressure control valve, and a full-load stop, controlled by an adjustment device, for limiting the maximum full-load quantity injected by the fuel injection pump. The adjustment device has a piston, which is acted upon on one end by the supply pressure in the suction chamber of the injection pump and on the other end by a pressure (p.sub.a) that is made to differ from the supply pressure by means of two separate throttles. The two throttles have the effect that if the pressure valve is closed, the adaptation device is subjected to a differential pressure which is approximately equal to that when the pressure valve is opened, and so the full-load courses attained in normal operation and in cold operation are virtually identical.

    • A fuel injection pump having a speed governor which is housed in a pump body under a control pressure and which actuates an injection quantity control element, and a hydraulic injection timing mechanism which is connected with the pump body and which adjusts the start of injection (SB) to "early" with increasing pressure in the pump body, and to "late" with decreasing pressure. For the implementation of a load-dependent start of delivery (LFB), a governor sleeve of the speed governor governs in a load dependent manner, a relief throttle in the pump body, which, depending on the displacement setting of the governor sleeve, uncovers a varying cross-sectional throttle area to an outlet bore. In order to achieve clean exhaust gas in all load ranges, the relief throttle is designed so that the uncovered cross-sectional area of the throttle in a displacement setting (VL) assumed by the governor sleeve at full load, is zero or is very small, and that in a part load setting (TL) it is large, and that in a no-load or idling setting (NL) it is again smaller. Thus, the start of injection (SB) at no-load as opposed to part load, is adjusted once more to "early", albeit not so early as in the full load case.

    • In a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines for motor vehicles, a damping device is provided to eliminate so-called vehicle bucking. The device allows rapid adjusting movements of an rpm adjusting lever, which is connected to the driving lever, to affect the supply quantity setting of the fuel injection pump only with a delay. To this end, the damping device has a damping chamber defined by a damping cylinder and a damping piston displaceable therein. The damping chamber communicates with the pump interior via two parallel throttles and via counter-parallel check valves located in series with the parallel throttles. The damping piston is connected to a damper lever on which the rpm adjusting lever is supported via a pre-stressed drag spring. The damper lever is connected via a governor spring to a governor lever, which actuates a quantity adjusting device to determine the fuel metering, so that an adjusting motion of the rpm adjusting lever acts upon the quantity adjusting device only in a delayed manner.

    • In a fuel injection pump for an internal combustion chamber a device for an "early" adjustment of a fuel injection onset includes a check valve for controlling the fuel injection onset, for example in case of a cold start or low atmospheric temperatures. An unloading bypass conduit with an adjustable flow valve is connected to the check valve in parallel so that the adjustment makes possible the control of the beginning of the characteristic line of the pump relative to the characteristic line of the internal combustion engine. The device includes a pressure control valve which has an outlet opening controlled by a control piston. The cross-section of the outlet opening defines the adjustment of the characteristic line of the pump to the characteristic line of the engine.
