    • A fuel-cell system is advantageous for repressing water from flowing backward from a reservoir to a condenser, flowing backward which results from the inside of the condenser being turned into negative pressure. The fuel-cell system has a fuel cell for generating electric power by reactant gas, a condenser for generating condensed water by condensing water content included in the reactant gas to be supplied to the fuel cell or in off gas of the reactant gas, and a reservoir for reserving the condensed water collected at the condenser. A drain valve is disposed between the condenser and the reservoir. The drain valve is switchable between a closed state in which communication between the condenser and the reservoir is shut off and an opened state in which the condenser is communicated with the reservoir to discharge the water in the condenser to the reservoir. A controller carries out inner-pressure increment and drain controls for opening the drain valve after increasing inner pressure in the condenser.

    • A presentation system for a presenter to safely point out parts of an image projected from a projector onto a screen with laser light projected from a laser pointer held by the presenter is disclosed. The presentation system includes one or more infrared light receiving units on the laser pointer that selectively receive infrared signals from sending units that are mounted on the projector or on walls in order to control emission of laser light from the laser pointer. Arrangements of the sending and receiving units are designed to allow emission of the laser light from the pointer only when the laser pointer is pointed toward the projection screen. A control unit in the laser pointer may determine if the laser pointer is pointed correctly or a gravity operated shutter may further assist in preventing unsafe projection of laser light from the laser pointer.

    • A device for controlling an acceleration pump for a carburetor includes a positioning member, a stopper and an actuating means. The positioning member is preferably formed integrally with a piston slidably set in the acceleration pump. The stopper is arranged to move in a direction perpendicular to a sliding direction of the piston. According to the positions of the stopper, the positioning member engages the stopper at a plurality of predetermined positions so that the stroke of the piston may change. The actuating means may be bellows or others. The bellows contains therein an air pressure equal to the standard air pressure at a low place whereby the bellows can expand at a high place due to the air pressure difference. In addition, the actuating means can be controlled in response to the ambient temperature.

    • Provided is an image display device capable of dynamically controlling the D-V characteristics of a display panel while suppressing fluctuation in characteristic for each display panel. The display panel has a panel display portion including a red pixel, a green pixel, and a blue pixel. A storage unit stores V-L characteristic data measured in advance of RGB. A D-L calculation unit calculates D-L characteristic data of RGB based on the display setting values stored in a register. A D-V calculation unit calculates D-V characteristic data of RGB based on the V-L characteristic data stored in the storage unit and the D-L characteristic data calculated by the D-L calculation unit. A DAC generates a driving voltage corresponding to a video signal input from a timing controller based on the D-V characteristic data calculated by the D-V calculation unit and applies the driving voltage to each pixel.
