    • The present invention discloses a multiview 3D image display device which decreases the size of system and has a high resolution of images, and which can thus improve the quality of images. The image display system comprises an image display element for alternately displaying respective images corresponding to the respective left and right eyes of one person on the column pixel lines thereon; two illuminating means disposed at the rear of the image display element for providing respective polarized lights onto the image display element, the respective polarized lights having polarizing directions different from each other by 90 degrees; and a polarizing filter disposed between the image display element and the illuminating means for separating the polarized lights from the illuminating means into respective polarized lights corresponding to the respective column pixel lines of the image display element, the respective polarized lights being illuminated onto the respective column pixel lines through the polarizing filter; wherein viewing zones corresponding to the left and right eyes are formed at the front of the image display element by the polarized lights having the different polarizing directions.

    • An optical sensing apparatus for use in a ring laser interferometer measuring a physical quantity of an object includes a ring laser cavity formed by several internal mirrors, of which at least two internal mirrors are partly light-transmitting. The ring laser cavity generates two laser beams of an identical wavelength, the two laser beams propagating in counter direction to each other in the ring laser cavity. External mirrors are disposed at a distance from the ring laser cavity, whereby portions of the two laser beams, which pass through the internal mirrors and travel on optical paths toward the external mirrors, are reflected back into the ring laser cavity. The apparatus further includes at least one platform for mounting the external mirrors.

    • A multiview three-dimensional image display apparatus comprises: a light source, a shutter plate for selectively passing light from the source; a diffuser immediately adjacent the shutter plates an optical element in front of the diffuser for forming a viewing zone; and a transparent display immediately adjacent the optical element for displaying multiview images thereon, wherein the multiview images are displayed based on a time-multiplexing technique and the viewing zone is formed in front of the transparent display. The apparatus can be readily modified into a multiview apparatus that includes a plurality of light sources. Since a plurality of viewing zones can be simultaneously formed in the apparatus, it is possible for multiple viewers to simultaneously observe the same three-dimensional image.

    • A multi-view three-dimensional image system that enables a plurality of observers to view a three-dimensional image simultaneously in the visible ray range without the utilization of special spectacles adapted for viewing three-dimensional images. The multi-view three-dimensional image system according to the present invention comprises an imaging apparatus wherein a plurality of vertical strip type electro-optic switches functioning as moving apertures are adjacently disposed in front of an object lens. The system also comprises a display apparatus which comprises an image projector having electro-optic switches and a projection lens similar to that in the imaging apparatus, a signal converter which converts a parallel signal to a serial signal, and a display having a holographic screen which displays a projected image. The imaging apparatus and the image projector acquire the image of objects and projects it through the vertical strip type electro-optic switches. The vertical strip type optical switches are opened or closed, for example, from right to left or from left to right 30 times per second. Since the vertical strip type electro-optic switches of the imaging apparatus function as moving apertures, the cross-sections viewed through adjacent vertical strip type electro-optic switch are slightly different. The image viewed through each vertical strip type electro-optic switch is recorded on the corresponding channel of the multi-channel video recorder. The signal converter of the image display apparatus makes the output of the multi-channel video recorder the same as the output of the camera utilized when acquiring the image. Since sub-view zones are defined by the vertical strip type electro-optic switches in the view-zone generated by the holographic screen, the three-dimensional image can be viewed at a number of points.
