    • A diagnostic device and a diagnostic method for use with a bus system that includes stations interconnected over a bus, one station of which is set up as the master station and the other stations being slave stations. A diagnosis operation is performed which allows differentiated fault information to be obtained with regard to individual outputs of the stations, where the expenditure for the diagnostic device is low. The diagnosis is achieved by providing a diagnostic device only in the master station, by storing voltage and/or current information on at least one output of at least one slave station to be diagnosed in the diagnostic device, and by performing the diagnosis of the outputs under preselected or preselectable conditions on the basis of a program stored in the master station.

    • The invention relates to a climate control system for the interior of a motor vehicle, having a blower regulator, heating control unit or brushless blower motor, as well as function components such as operating elements, sensors, clocking valves and adjusting drive mechanisms, which are connected to one another and to the vehicle battery via connecting lines and to which the information required to operate the blower regulator, heating control unit or brushless blower motor are transmitted. The cabling and the control/regulation are minimized and simplified by providing that the blower regulator, the heating control unit, or the brushless blower motor is combined with the function components to make a pre-wired climate control unit, to which the supply voltage of the vehicle battery; that the blower regulator, the heating control unit, or the brushless blower motor is designed in bus-capable fashion with a microcomputer, which communicates via a bus interface with a climate control operating device supplied by the supply voltage; and that the information required for operating the climate control apparatus can be transmitted between the climate control operating device and microcomputer as part of a bus protocol on the bus interface.

    • A stop and jamming detection system in a stepping motor determines a parameter from the profile of an instantaneous motor variable and compares it to a reference value. A signal for the stop and jamming detection system is generated therefrom. Provided for this purpose is an analysis circuit which detects, as the instantaneous motor variable, the voltage that is induced in at least one unenergized winding of the stepping motor and is brought about by an energized winding of the stepping motor, and analyzes it as to whether the stepping motor is jammed or movable. In the analysis by the analysis circuit, a decision is made as to a hard or an elastic jam. With a hard jam, the stationary armature means that no voltage is induced, while with an elastic jam, because the step is not completed, the recoil of the armature into its original position induces an opposite-phase voltage peak which is detected.
