    • A heat sink removes heat from an electronic device and comprises a base, a lid. An inner ring of first fins extend radially outwardly first length from an inner circle and extend axially a first height from the top surface of the base, and an outer ring of second fins extend radially inwardly a second length from an outer periphery and extend axially a second height from the top surface of the base. A confining plate extends radially above the fins and is spaced below the bottom surface of the lid whereby coolant fluid flows from an inlet opening of the lid through the center opening of the confining plate and radially outwardly through the fins and upward around the outer edge of the confining plate and into the space above the confining plate to an outlet opening. A nozzle having a throat is disposed above the lid and extends below the lid to the confining plate. A flow diverter extends upwardly from the top surface of the base and into and through the throat of the nozzle.

    • A method and apparatus for inspecting items for the presence of contraband. Trays may be used to hold items as they move through an inspection station. After use, the trays may be mechanically conveyed back to an entry region of the inspection station so that the trays may be used to move other items. Mechanically conveying the trays may enable increased throughput for inspection stations. A tray return may be constructed from multiple modules positioned to the side of an inspection machine. In use at an airport or other similar facility, the tray return may face a passenger use area at an inspection station. Passengers exiting the inspection station may place trays in the tray return. Passengers entering the inspection station may remove a tray from an end of the tray return at an entrance of the inspection station.

    • A portable air filtration system includes a filter housing having an air inlet and an air outlet. The filter housing defines a filtration chamber between the air inlet and the air outlet. The portable air filtration system uses an ionizing mechanism, a filter media, and an electrode to filter air. The ionizing mechanism ionizes particles within the air to a negative charge. The filter media is disposed between the ionizing mechanism and the air outlet for entrapping the particles. The electrode is disposed between the ionizing mechanism and the filter media to establish an electric field. The electric field is established between the ionizing mechanism and the electrode adjacent to the filter media. The electrode is also electrically-connected to ground and to the filter media for dissipating the negative charge of the particles entrapped within the filter media.

    • A Christmas tree decorative enhancing system provides a lighting display that is choreographed to an audio file and respective output. Each of a series of light strands are in signal communication with a respective output port on a controller. The controller integrates a storage device reader, a digital audio decoding integrated circuit, an operational controller data file decoding circuit, an output controller circuit, and a power regulation circuit. An audio data file is merged with an operational controller data file and stored in a portable digital data storage device. The controller decodes the merged file, generates an audio output signal, and drives the output controller circuit to illuminate one or more light strands in a choreographed manner in concert with the audio output. Two or more systems can be in wireless, signal communication to operate in tandem. The system can be provided using the light strands to form a tree-shape, or the lights can be placed into an existing tree.
