    • The present invention provides methods of stimulating fluid production from an unconsolidated formation penetrated by a wellbore while preventing the migration of formation sand with fluids produced from the formation. The methods basically comprise the steps of injecting a liquid composition into a portion of the formation surrounding the wellbore which converts into a gel-like substance and plugs the permeability of the injected portion of the formation, but allows the injected portion to remain flexible and resist breakdown due to pressure cycling therein, creating at least one fracture in the formation extending from the wellbore through the plugged portion of the formation into an unplugged portion thereof and depositing hardenable resin composition coated proppant in the fracture and causing the resin composition to harden and consolidate the proppant into a hard permeable mass.

    • A method and system for testing a two-phase compressible composition, such as a foamed cementing composition, enables testing for mechanical properties while maintaining original pressurized gas volumes in the composition. A specimen of the composition can be prepared, transferred and tested without disrupting the dynamic status of the specimen. This allows for testing of the composition under conditions in which the composition will be placed in an oil or gas well. A related specimen test device is also disclosed. The method includes pressurizing the two-phase compressible composition in a first vessel to a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure; pressurizing a second vessel to the pressure; transferring at least a portion of the composition from the first vessel to the second vessel while maintaining at least substantially the pressure on the transferred portion of the composition; and testing the portion of the composition transferred to the second vessel, which testing is performed while maintaining at least substantially the pressure in the second vessel.

    • The present invention provides methods of stimulating fluid production from an unconsolidated formation penetrated by a wellbore while preventing the migration of formation sands with fluids produced from the formation. The methods basically comprise the steps of injecting a hardenable resin composition into a portion of the formation surrounding the wellbore whereby that portion is consolidated into a hard permeable mass, forming an indentation in the wellbore to facilitate the initiation of a fracture in the consolidated portion of the formation, creating a fracture in the formation extending from the wellbore through the consolidated portion of the formation into an unconsolidated portion thereof and depositing hardenable resin composition coated proppant in the fracture whereby the proppant is consolidated into a hard permeable mass.
