摘要： A method of injecting fluid into a formation, comprises exerting a mechanical force on a wall of a bore extending through a formation to modify the permeability of the formation; and injecting fluid into the modified formation. The mechanical force may be exerted through inflation of at least one pressure deformable member mounted on a base member. The base member may be a base pipe. The pressure deformable member may be a hollow or tubular member mounted externally of the base pipe. A plurality of pressure deformable members may be provided.

摘要： A composite having a solid particulate and a surface modifying treatment agent on the solid particulate wherein the surface modifying treatment agent has a hydrophobic tail and an anchor for adhering the hydrophobic tail onto the solid particulate. The anchor may be metal and the hydrophobic tail may be an organo-silicon material, a fluorinated hydrocarbon or both an organo-silicon material and a fluorinated hydrocarbon. The composite may be used as a proppant in a hydraulic fracturing operation as well as a sand control particulate in a gravel packing operation. The presence of the surface modifying treatment agent on the surface of the solid particulate reduces the generation of fines and dust as well as the migration of sand during a hydraulic fracturing operation or a sand control operation. The presence of the surface modifying treatment agent on the surface of the solid particulate further enhances the crush resistance of the solid particulate.

摘要： A method is for consolidating particulate matter in a well. The method comprises injecting a composition into a sand bearing formation. The composition comprises a curable non-aqueous, homogeneous liquid, an initiator for heat induced production of free radicals, a pot life extending inhibitor for stabilization of free radicals, and optionally an accelerator and optionally a filler. The non-aqueous, homogeneous liquid further comprises an at least partially unsaturated prepolymer including at least one of polyester and epoxy vinyl ester, and at least one vinyl or allyl containing monomer. The method further comprises subsequently injecting an aqueous, non-aqueous liquid or a gas for re-establishing permeability of the formation and letting the composition cure by free radical polymerization in the sand bearing formation at a temperature of 0-150° C. to form a cured sand consolidating material.

摘要： Methods are included that are useful in treating subterranean formations and, more particularly, to minimizing particulate migration over long intervals in subterranean well bores that may be horizontal, vertical, deviated, or otherwise nonlinear. In one embodiment, a method is presented comprising: providing a well bore comprising an open hole section of about 30 feet or more that comprises an open hole section with a filter cake neighboring at least a portion of a reservoir; allowing the integrity of at least a portion of the filter cake to become compromised; and treating at least a portion of the open hole section with a consolidating agent system in a single stage operation so as to at least partially reduce particulate migration in the open hole section.
