    • This disclosure relates to a roof edge assembly for use in forming a raised edge or gravel stop on a roof. The disclosure also relates to a framing structure useful for framing windows and doors; and to a mounting assembly for securing building panels, curtain walls, partitions, siding and the like to building surfaces. The nailerless roof edge of the present invention eliminates the need for the piece of wood or nailer which is normally bolted to the top of a cement block wall for the purpose of fastening metal roof edges. The present roof edge assembly comprises a tab strip member which is adapted to be secured adjacent the edge of a roof using adhesive or other attaching means and which has special tab means thereon. The assembly further comprises a cant member having slot means therein adapted to mate with the tab means to secure the cant member to the tab strip member, and a fascia member which is adapted to be mounted on the cant member. The present invention provides for relatively simple, fast, and economical installation of roof edging and is adaptable to conventional roofing sealing membrane and insulation configurations. The framing structure employs a similar tab strip member for securing as with adhesive to a building surface adjacent the window or doorway opening. A frame member, having slotted openings or raised clip members, engages the tab strip to hold the frame member in place on the building structure, while a cover member can be snap fit onto the frame member to conceal the tabs. A similar tab strip is also used to secure other building materials to a building structure, wherein the building material is provided with slotted openings or raised clip members for engaging the tab strip.

    • A borehole logging system employs a gamma-ray detector for measuring the natural gamma radiation of the earth formations surrounding a borehole. Three energy band selectors, each employing a discriminator and count rate meter, separate the output of the gamma-ray detector into potassium, uranium, and thorium energy band signals. A first operational amplifier determines the difference between the potassium energy band signal and those portions of the uranium and thorium energy band signals which represent the influence of uranium and thorium gamma radiation within the potassium energy band, this difference representing the correct potassium gamma radiation. A second operational amplifier determines the difference between the uranium energy band signal and that portion of the thorium energy band signal which represents the influence of the thorium gamma radiation within the uranium energy band, this difference representing the correct uranium gamma radiation. A third operational amplifier determines the difference between the thorium energy band signal and that portion of the uranium energy band signal which represents the influence of the uranium gamma radiation within the thorium energy band, this difference representing the correct thorium gamma radiation.

    • The gravel stop is made of a springable material which has top and bottom portions joined by a horizontal and a sloping portion disposed therebetween. Since the material has spring characteristics, a fascia having a channel at the top and the bottom may be placed over the top edge and moved downwardly and released to have the bottom channel engage the bottom edge of the spring unit. Adhesive, nails or other attaching means may be employed to secure the spring unit to the material at the roof edge. The spring unit may be made of aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, plastic and the like. A spring unit of galvanized steel was secured by Neoprene Construction Adhesive manufactured by Franklin Glue Co.

    • An assembly is disclosed for forming a raised roof edge on a building structure that preferably has a generally horizontal roof and a geneally vertical outer face. The assembly includes a dam member for forming a water dam or gravel stop and a fascia member. Preferably, the dam member is a one-piece structure, including a clamping and retention portion and a vertical intermediate portion, and biases and secures the fascia member into a relatively tight and rattle-free interlocking installation on the dam member. Preferably, a roofing material is gripped and held against the dam member as a result of the biasing forces of the clamping and retention portion and the intermediate dam portion. The roof edge assembly thereby provides an improved water dam or gravel stop structure that securely retains the roofing material on the roof of the building structure without penetrating the roofing material, at least along the roof surface. Also, because the roof edge assembly is adapted for installation on roof structures employing roofing pavers or other such roof-covering devices, and preferably anchors and retains the roofing pavers, the roof edge assembly of the present invention features increased stability and resistance to uplift forces in comparison to more conventional roof edge assemblies.

    • An assembly is disclosed for forming a raised roof edge on a building structure that preferably has a generally horizontal roof and a generally vertical outer face. The assembly includes a dam member for forming a water dam or gravel stop, a fascia member, and a separate clip member interposed therebetween for resiliently biasing the fascia member into a relatively tight and rattle-free interlocking installation on the dam member. Preferably, a roofing material is interposed between the clip member and the dam member and is frictionally secured and anchored therebetween as a result of the resilient snap-on engagement of the fascia member on the clip member and the dam member. The roof edge assembly thereby provides an improved water dam or gravel stop structure that securely retains and protects the roofing material on the roof of the building structure.

    • An improved roof edge structure of the type providing a gravel stop and a water dam around the periphery of a roof deck is described. The roof edge structure features a novel cant securing assembly which includes a cant member and a retainer member. The cant member has a flange portion adapted for flush surface engagement with a top surface of the roof deck, an inclined sheet portion sloping upwardly from the flange portion generally toward the edge of the roof deck, and a generally vertical sheet portion turned downwardly from the inclined sheet portion. The retainer member is adapted to be fastened to the top surface of the roof deck and has a securing means for confining the movement of at least the vertical sheet portion of the cant member.
