摘要： An automatic injection device for providing a subcutaneous injection is disclosed. The device includes a syringe movably disposed in a housing and including a barrel portion, a needle and a bung for sealing the barrel portion. The device includes a plunger for moving the syringe towards a first open end of the housing such that the needle projects from the first end, and for subsequently applying pressure to the bung. The plunger includes a rod connected at a first end to the bung, a compressible expanded central portion, and a flange between a second end of the rod and the central portion. The device also includes a biasing mechanism for biasing the plunger towards the first open end of the housing, the biasing mechanism disposed about the second end of the rod between the flange and a second end of the housing.

摘要： A lancet body for a skin pricker has resiliently flexible fingers (9) with outwardly splayed tips (10). The device is fired by pressing a trigger (13) and a spring (5) urges the lancet forwards and the fingers (9) flex inwards as the tips (10) snap past barbs (11), so that the tips (10) of the arms (9) engage behind the barbs (11). If the user tries to push the lancet back into the cocked condition, the fingers (9) are trapped and will flex as the tips (10) press against the barbs (11) until the arms buckle and the tips (10) are pushed out through openings (14). Thus the lancet is arrested and immobilized before a re-cocked position is reached, and re-firing is prevented.

摘要： Plastics material injected through an entry point of a mould at the location (8) is caused to deflect around a pin which creates the hole (14) in a guard (5), so as to increase the balance of flow of material to either side of the pin (9). In order to minimize the tendency for the plastics material to bend out of shape the tip of the needle embedded within an enlarged portion (13) the mould is formed such that the mould material is initially encouraged to divide and flow through outer thickened regions (10) surrounding a thinner portion. At point (12) the plastics material is therefore caused to slow down resulting in greater equalization of the flow speed of the plastics material to either side of the needle tip.

摘要： A knob is rotated from its zero position to set a dose. This rotates an indexer, which through its peg turns a ring by pushing on one of the teeth. A position is reached wherein the free end portion of the peg meets a cam surface. On continued rotation of the knob, the peg is forced radially inwards to clear the tooth that it has just been pushing against. The ring, having been shifted through one-seventh of a complete revolution is then left stationary while the knob is turned further to whatever dose is required. When a syringe actuation trigger is pressed, the knob winds back again to its zero position, taking with it the indexer. The peg is still held clear of the ring until it hits the sloping side of the tooth following the one which it had previously pushed.
