    • In a process for producing ammonia from urea which process comprises: (a) heating a liquid phase reaction medium comprising an aqueous solution of urea, or a mixture of urea, containing biuret or ammonium carbamate on site, in a hydrolysis reactor such that a pressurized gaseous ammonia and carbon dioxide-containing product is obtained which is essentially free of urea, biuret, or ammonium carbamate; (b) separating the gaseous ammonia and carbon dioxide-containing product from the liquid phase reaction medium at the prevailing pressure; (c) retaining the liquid phase reaction medium in the reactor for further conversion to gaseous ammonia and carbon dioxide, and/or recycling at least a portion of the said reaction medium back into the reactor, a urea dissolver, or feed solution to the reactor for further conversion; and (d) withdrawing the gaseous ammonia and carbon dioxide-containing product separated in step (b) at a controlled rate to meet varying ammonia demand requirements; the improvement wherein the operating pressure of said reactor is set or adjusted such that excess water for the reaction is maintained in the reactor and the dew-point of said gaseous ammonia and carbon-dioxide-containing product is below the operating temperature of said reactor.

    • A damper assembly for use in an industrial duct used for venting contaminated gasses having particulate matter suspended therein. The damper assembly removes precipitate from the duct that was deposited by the contaminated gas and particulate matter. The damper assembly includes an articulating member which is movable between an open position and a closed position along a first axial direction. Opposing blades are disposed on opposite sides of the articulating member. Each of the opposing blades define a distal edge and are pivotable about axes that are substantially parallel to one another. A link couples each blade to the articulating member such that the motion from the articulating member is transfer to the blades. Each link is coupled to the blade between the distal edge and the respective parallel axis.

    • The present invention is a method of preparing a high internal phase ratio emulsion without phase inversion comprising the steps of: a) continuously merging into a disperser and in the presence of an emulsifying and a stabilizing amount of a surfactant, a continuous phase liquid stream having a flow rate R.sub.1, and a disperse phase liquid stream having a flow rate R.sub.2 ; and b) mixing the merged streams with a sufficient amount of shear, and with R.sub.2 :R.sub.1 sufficiently constant, to form the high internal phase ratio emulsion without phase inversion or stepwise distribution of an internal phase into an external phase; wherein R.sub.2 :R.sub.1 encompasses a range, the lower limit of which range being defined by a point where the volume average particle size of the high internal phase ratio emulsion begins to show an inverse dependence on R.sub.2 :R.sub.1, and wherein the upper limit of which range is just less than an R.sub.2 :R.sub.1 where a phase inversion of the high internal phase ratio emulsion takes place. Monodisperse submicron particles can be prepared using the process of the present invention. Useful latexes can be prepared from these high internal phase ratio emulsions.
