    • A method for filtering suspended materials from a cooking substance, e.g. oil or shortening, in a central filtration system 100. The method including the steps of (i) receiving the cooking substance in a first tank 106 from a deep fryer and filtering in a first filtration stage through a separator 112 and returning to the first tank 106; (ii) transitioning to a second stage by filling a second tank 118; (iii) filtering in a second filtration stage through filters 120 and 112; and (iv) holding the cooking substance in a heated tank 126 before returning to the deep fryer. Each stage commences when a certain condition is met, e.g. a predetermine level or weight of cooking substance in a tank or a predetermined clarity of the cooking substance.

    • A supporting brace is employed to pivotally mount a fryer lifting lid on a monorail lifting device. The supporting brace includes a central bracing member having a first and a second member face and having a first and a second member end. A monorail mounting bracket is positioned on the second member face. A first pivot arm extends substantially perpendicular to the first member face at the first member end, and a second pivot arm extends substantially perpendicular to the first member face at the second member end. The first member end has a first member end height, and the second member end has a second member end height. The first pivot arm has a first pivot arm height and the second pivot arm has a second pivot arm height, such that the first member end height is greater than the first pivot arm height and the second member end height is greater than the second pivot arm height. In addition, a first reinforcing arm extends from the first member end and is in contact with the first pivot arm, and a second reinforcing arm extends from the second member end and is in contact with the second pivot arm. Further, a lifting lid assembly includes a lifting lid pivotally mounted on a supporting brace and a monorail lifting device including a monorail having a receiving bracket for receiving the monorail mounting bracket and a drive assembly for raising and lowering the receiving bracket along the monorail.

    • An H-field electromagnetic heating system for fusion bonding, particularly useful in the sealing of telecommunications cables and closures, comprises a composite bonding material having a bonding matrix and susceptors, the susceptors being magnetically reactive at a frequency above 50 MHz, and an applicator for applying radiant electromagnetic energy to the composite bonding material, at a frequency above 50 MHz (preferably 75-500 MHz). The applicator may take the form of a quarter-wave resonator having an inner conductor and an outer conductor which at least partially surrounds the inner conductor, the two conductors being shorted at a common end. The material to be heated is placed between the conductors. The inner conductor may include a resonator tube which is capacitively coupled to the power supply by a capacitive probe connected to the center conductor of a coaxial connector. Different applicators (having different geometries) may be used with the same power supply, or a variety of heater adapters may be provided which can be removably attached to the applicator base. An alternative applicator employs many wires, electrically insulated from one another, each forming a coil with a common axis, and all of the wires being electrically connected in parallel. Several of these wires are stacked to form multiple layers of coils, such that the effective resistance of said applicator is reduced and the current-carrying capacity is increased. Individual capacitors may be connected in series with a respective one of the wire coils, to make the current in the coils more uniform for coil circumferences which are greater than 0.1 of the wavelength of the radiant electromagnetic energy.
