摘要： This apparatus is connected with a kitchen disposer-grinder for de-watering and collecting ground food scraps that are suitable for garden compost. A de-watering spin chamber containing a rotary spin basket is mounted on the inside of the door on an under-sink closet. A flexible drain tube from the spin chamber discharges into the sink drainpipe. A flexible inlet tube for the spin chamber is connected to one outlet of a bypass valve. A second outlet of the bypass valve is connected to the sink drainpipe. The bypass valve receives the discharge from the disposer-grinder mounted in the sink drain whereby material that is suitable for compost use may be bypassed to the spin chamber where it is de-watered and collected while liquids and other ground material not desired for compost may be discharged directly into the drainpipe.

摘要： An insert block or plate for disposition between the horizontally inwardly opening flow chamber cover of a carburetor and that face of the associated carburetor body portion against which the cover is conventionally secured in order to define a flow chamber of the carburetor. The insert plate or block is so constructed and mated with the conventional main metering jet mounting portion of the carburetor body which is conventionally closed by the flow chamber cover so as to define an extension of the conventional fuel metering passage controlled by a replaceable metering jet, which jet is removed to enable installation of the insert plate. In addition, the insert plate includes an adjustable metering valve for metering the flow of fuel through the extension of the fuel metering passage and the adjustable metering valve is adjustable from the exterior of the carburetor in a manner which does not required the removal of any part of the carburetor and which may be carried out during the operation of an associated internal combustion engine.

摘要： A dual master cylinder assembly for separately operating two hydraulic brake systems for a wheeled vehicle, employs two oppositely moving pistons in coaxial bores. An actuator extending transversely between the pistons carries toggle mechanism comprising a pair of links, one connected to each of the pistons, respectively. A roller at the pivotal connection between each link and its respective piston rolls on the bore surface to eliminate side loading and insure that only axial forces are applied to the pistons. As the toggle links straighten out the axial force on the pistons is multiplied.

摘要： Wate asbestos is converted into a glass by maintaining within an electrical glass melting furnace a body of molten glass at a temperature above the decomposition temperature of asbestos; supplying asbestos to the furnace by a conveyor discharging above the body of molten glass so that the asbestos falls onto the molten glass and becomes decomposed and melted into glass; and withdrawing molten glass from the furnace at a temperature of at least 1000.degree. C. The asbestos is advantageously mixed with cullet and a melt accelerator and fed into the furnace by means of a screw mixer/conveyor. The furnace is advantageously operated at a pressure less than atmospheric pressure.

摘要： A closure plug for a casting core hole including opposite end portions and an intermediate portion defined therebetween. A first or inner end of the plug is cylindrical and includes a circumferential groove in which sealing O-ring is secured. The second outer end of the plug is also cylindrical for flush seating in the outer end of the associated casting core hole. The intermediate portion of the plug is diametrically reduced and an annular washer constructed of stiff but somewhat resilient material is disposed thereon. The washer includes circumferentially spaced radially outwardly projecting integral resilient fingers inclined slightly toward the second outer end of the plug. The outer extremities of the fingers lie generally on a circular path which is slightly larger in diameter than the fingers, when the closure plug is inserted within a casting hole, are deflected toward the outer second end of the plug and disposed in tight frictional engagement with the walls of the core hole so as to preclude any subsequent movement of the closure plug outwardly of the core hole.
