摘要： Disclosed is a system for assessing and monitoring muscle performance with self-adjusting feedback in order to evaluate progress in physiotherapy received by patients who have suffered muscle damage, the method including: A) at least one apparatus for acquiring muscle or biopotential signals; signal conditioning; processing, sending, receiving information; and self-adjusting feedback; B) at least one external computer and/or monitor or graphic interface for viewing external information; C) wherein the at least one apparatus for acquiring muscle or biopotential signals; signal conditioning; processing, sending, receiving information; and self-adjusting feedback and the at least one external computer and/or monitor or graphic interface for viewing external information are configured to carry out a method for measuring, extracting and processing parameters for assessing and monitoring muscle performance with self-adjusting feedback in order to evaluate progress in physiotherapy received by patients who have suffered muscle damage.

摘要： Disclosed herein is an apparatus for fabricating a branching structure, the apparatus comprising: a flexible, electrically conductive internal electrical field collector comprising a first collector end, a second collector end, a collector outer surface located between both collector ends, a collector longitudinal axis extending through the first collector end and the second collector end, and at least one articulating feature positioned between the first collector end and the second collector end, a compression and rotation mechanism in contact with the first collector end, and a continuously formed mandrel that can include branches, having a first mandrel circumference with a mandrel inner circumference larger than the collector outer circumference and positionable over the internal electrical field collector and a second mandrel located at sufficient distance outside the first mandrel to facilitate attraction of electruspun fibers. Also disclosed are methods of manufacturing the branching structure, and grafts thereof.

摘要： The invention is a biologically inspired artificial olfactory method and system comprising the design of at least one septum with at least two nostrils, wherein each nostril is designed having special characteristics. This artificial nose permits detecting the direction wherefrom a smell emanates. The septum is utilized to realize the separation of the air currents external to the olfactory system. In this manner the measurement of the environment may be obtained in two different positions simultaneously. These measurements reflect different concentrations and reaction times, consequently they may be utilized to calculate the direction wherefrom a smell emanates.Each nostril comprises an air chamber performing the principal biological processes carried out within the nose. These processes are: the process of aspiration, the process of division, the process of conduction, the sensing, the processing, the transformation of the air or smell filtration, and expulsion.

摘要： Use of heterogeneous nucleation allows the localized reduction of metal salt and also cross-link the carbon precursor in the same region. This cross-linked matrix act as the secondary heterogeneous sites for spontaneous Nano particle synthesis and growth during the process of pyrolysis. Selectively creating heterogeneous sites and reducing the metal precursor using highly focused energy beams create various metal-carbon composites with controlled metal positioning. This is such a unique process where a pretreatment process will control the fabrication of complex metal-carbon composite nano and microstructures. This greatly simplifies the fabrication process, facilitating nanostructures like Nano metal bulbs, nanometal pointed nanogaps and metal sandwich structures with such process. With several advantages ranging from electronics, catalysis, optics and several other bio-functionalization technologies, this enables materials with unique and hybrid advantages. Moreover, fabrication of micro and Nano level structures provides a CMEMS and BIOMEMS relevant approach for wide range of applications.

摘要： TETX, a tetracycline degrading enzyme, is provided as a selection marker for eukaryotic cells. Polynucleotide molecules containing tetx and DNA constructs comprising a tetx under the control of a eukaryotic promoter are provided. Additionally, DNA constructs that contain a gene of interest and a tetx, each under the control of an appropriate promoter are provided. Further, methods of expressing tetx in a eukaryotic cell are provided, the method comprising introducing a vector comprising tetx into eukaryotic cells, culturing the eukaryotic cells in the presence of tetracycline, and identifying and isolating the cell that expresses tetx. Furthermore, a method is provided for expressing a gene of interest encoding a protein of interest in a eukaryotic cell by culturing a cell containing a vector comprising a gene of interest and a tetx, each under the control of an appropriate promoter.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for obtaining porous hollow fibers having molecularly imprinted spheres embedded therein, said method comprising the steps of: simultaneously and independently injecting a doping solution and a pore-forming solution into an extrusion die; extruding or spinning porous hollow fibers; coagulating the porous hollow fibers that leave step (b) in an aqueous solution with an aqueous solution having a temperature between 15° C.-25° C.; winding the flexible porous hollow fibers coagulated in step (c); leaving them to dry and storing same under vacuum conditions. The resulting porous hollow fibers are used to form filtrating modules in which a plurality of fibers are disposed longitudinally and in parallel. The filtrating modules can be assembled together to form filtering devices intended, in a preferred example, for gradual blood purification and the subsequent qualitative and/or quantitative identification of the molecules retained in the first filter of each filtering module. The invention also relates to the operating method of the filtering device.
