摘要： A method and apparatus for the stacking of paper engages the oncoming sheets at their rear ends between clamping elements on upper and lower belts and is so provided that the rear ends are deflected perpendicular to the direction of feed so that the oncoming sheets can effectively shingle over underlying sheets. The clamping portions are engaged at the feeding speed of the sheets at the moment of initial contact, are then slowed down to reduce the speed of the sheets, then release the sheets and then return to the usual speed for the pickup of the next sheet.

Then, the rotor and the housing are rotated through a predetermined angular amount with respect to a zero position, and the rotor is attached to a steering shaft that is provided with a pinion toothing. Finally, the steering shaft is inserted into a steering gear which includes a toothed rack, the housing being fixed in place at the steering gear in a predetermined angular position, and the steering shaft being rotated together with the rotor by the pinion toothing engaging in the toothed rack, until the rotor has returned to the zero position relative to the housing.

A pigment-carrying liquid is ejected at a flow speed from a slot of the nozzle to form a downwardly free-falling curtain extending across the web. A vertical inner face of a guide element is oriented at each outer edge of the curtain with each face extending from a respective end of the slot downward to adjacent the passing web. An upper region of each of the inner faces is fed is to a respective partial stream of the liquid such that the partial streams flow down the respective inner faces at a speed at least equal to the curtain flow speed and merge with the outer edges of the curtain.

摘要： A succession of sheets are delivered by a main conveyor in a direction at high speed to a braking station and are thereafter piled up by a stacker. A braking apparatus at the station has an endless braking belt having a section of predetermined limited length formed with throughgoing belt holes and a section of substantially greater length that is substantially imperforate. A support holds the belt in the station with a stretch of the belt generally aligned with the direction and positioned to receive the sheets from the main conveyor. A suction box underneath the stretch has a face engaging the stretch, formed with throughgoing suction holes, and having a length in the direction shorter than the length of the imperforate section of the belt. A drive advances the belt such that the stretch moves in the direction at a periodically varying speed with the belt holes and suction holes only aligning periodically. Air is drawn in through the belt holes and suction holes only when same are aligned to draw the sheets down against the belt.

摘要： A brake for a sheet feed to a stacking site in which the sheets are engaged by a belt drive from the location at which they are cut from a continuous web. The brake device has an endless belt with a brake stretch parallel to the travel plane of the sheets or declined downward slightly therefrom. The brake has at least one element with a shank over the belt and projecting above the plane at the inlet side of the braking device. The rear edge of the sheet is thus engaged by the shank and the brake belt is decelerated so that the sheet is delivered to the stack at the lower speed.
