    • A frequency generator module has a first generator circuit and a second generator circuit, the frequencies of these circuits being variable by a physical parameter, especially a distance or angular value, with two coils arranged coaxially at a mutual spacing on linear or curved, tubular coil holders, the inductance of these coils being variable by a core displaceable in the coil holder. The combined generator module is connected by a control circuit to a changeover switch which alternately switches the output of one of the two coils to the input of the frequency generator module. A short-circuit ring is arranged in an axially normal plane between the two coils, for the duration of a specific number of pulses of the generator circuit formed from the coil and the generator module. A control and/or regulating device is provided which calculates from certain pulses of successive pulse sequences of the two generator circuits the frequencies (f1; f2) and their difference (f1-f2) and/or a correcting value which is the difference between the actual value and the desired value of the sum total (f1+f2) of the frequencies of the two generator circuits. The corrected frequency difference and/or the value of the physical variable derived therefrom is indicated, or a signal proportional thereto is transmitted.

    • An apparatus for detecting undesirable combustion characteristics in spark-ignited internal combustion engines. A sensor and a band-pass filter tuned to the frequency of the knock vibration are provided with an output of the band-pass filter being compared with a reference value. The result of the comparison is correlated with undesirable combustion characteristics to be recognized. A rectifier is provided for solid-borne sound signals received by the sensor with the signals passing through the band-pass filter. The signal is rectified in the rectifier to a knock signal and a series circuit made up of a band-stop filter tuned to the frequency of the knock vibration, an rms rectifier, and an amplifier is provided by means of which the sound signal received by the sensor is converted into a reference signal. A comparator is provided when the reference signal and the knock signal are compared with each other and an output signal appears if the knock signal exceeds the reference signal.

    • An ingnition distributor for an internal combustion engine, more particularly, for a motor vehicle internal combustion engine having an electronic ignition system driven by a distributor shaft which, in turn, is driven by the engine and having a device for changing a phase relationship between the distributor shaft and a distributor rotor. A control disk is rotatably mounted on the distributor shaft and is rigidly coupled with the distributor rotor. The rotation of the distributor shaft is capable of being transmitted to the control disk by means of at least one spring. An electromagnet is provided between the two poles of which the control disk is rotated, with the electromagnet forming with the control disk an anti-current brake. An electronic phase control is provided for regulating an excitation current of the electromagnet in accordance with a difference between the actual and set value of the phase displacement in dependence upon operating parameters of the internal combustion engine.
