    • A cam ring for forming a pump chamber on the outer periphery of a rotor which is rotatable in a body is arranged movably, and is urged in a direction in which the volume of the pump chamber is made maximum. Sealing means are interposed in an annular gap space on the outer periphery of the cam ring between the cam ring and the body, thereby forming first and second fluid-pressure chambers for allowing the cam ring to undergo displacement by moving. A spool-type changeover valve is provided which is operated in accordance with the discharge flow rate of the pressure fluid from the pump chamber to control the fluid pressure supplied to the first and second fluid-pressure chambers. The fluid pressure on the downstream side of a metering orifice 29 provided in a pump discharge-side passage 28 is introduced into the second fluid-pressure chamber for imparting moving displacement in the direction in which the volume of the pump chamber is made maximum, through a passage 37 via a second valve chamber 32b. It is possible to control the swinging of the cam ring, and to prevent fluctuations in the flow rate and a decline in the flow rate on the discharge side of the pump.

    • An oil pump which delivers an operating oil to a power steering mechanism of vehicle is designed to reduce the power which is wasted during a high speed operation. A subpump of a reduced capacity having a number of revolutions which varies with a vehicle speed is provided, in addition to a vane pump which delivers an operating oil to the power steering mechanism. A discharged oil from the subpump is delivered to act upon the rear surface of the vanes to enable a pumping action of the vane pump when operating at low speeds while the delivery of the discharged oil to the rear surface of the vanes is interrupted to cease the pumping action of the vane pump, and is delivered to the power steering mechanism when operating at higher speeds.

    • A flow rate control valving apparatus includes a housing, a plug connector, and a tubular member. The housing has a valve bore in which a spool is movably housed. The plug connector is provided opposite to one end portion of the spool to form a high-pressure chamber for receiving a pressurized fluid from a pump between the spool and the plug connector. A small-diameter opening is formed in a portion of the plug connector opposite to the high-pressure chamber, and a supply passage connected to the small-diameter opening is formed in the plug connector to supply the pressurized fluid to a fluid system. The tubular member is fixed at a position in the supply passage in the plug connector, at which the tubular member engages with the distal end of an adjusting rod portion of the spool to regulate the movement of the spool toward the high-pressure chamber, and serves as a stopper for regulating the movement of the spool. A small hole portion communicating with the supply passage is formed in the tubular member, and an internal passage of the tubular member communicates with the small hole portion and the pressure guide passage extending to the other end portion of the spool.

    • An oil pump of vane type is disclosed. Plates which hold a rotor and a cam ring therebetween have a groove formed in their suction region to allow a discharged oil to be introduced into such groove. The plates are also formed with a groove in their discharge region which communicates with the groove in the suction region through an orifice. The oil in these grooves act upon the back side of the vane to urge it into abutment against the cam ring. A passage is provided for connecting the groove in the discharge region to a low pressure side of the pump, and a valve opens or closes the passage to enable the pumping action to be turned on and off.
