    • An apparatus for producing special yarn made of a fiber strand in which a number of fibers are randomly arranged along the lengthwise direction thereof, in which special yarn at least one of the yarn structural parameters, e.g., yarn count number or number of twist, changes along the lengthwise direction of the yarn.A pattern of change of the parameters of the yarn structure with respect to the length of the special yarn to be produced is stored in a central processing device, while a spun length of the special yarn is measured by a sensor. The yarn structural parameters are changed to correspond to the pattern set to the central processing device and the special yarn is produced by the yarn forming device using another central processing device of the spinning frame.This apparatus can be used for a ring spinning frame, an open end spinning frame, a fasciated yarn spinning frame, and the like.

    • A toolholder device for a machine tool comprises a holder body driven by a machine tool drive spindle, and a toolholder supported on the holder body so as to be circumferentially and axially displaceable. The holder body and the toolholder are provided with displacement detection elements which are arranged circumferentially in interdigitating relation. A support shaft extends from either member of the holder body and the toolholder toward the other member. The outer surface of the support shaft and the inner surface of a support hole of the other member to be fitted over the support shaft are formed with helical guide grooves which are opposite to each other and slopingly extends with respect to the rotational axis of the toolholder device. Balls are interposed between the opposite guide grooves to form a displacement translation mechanism which converts a rearward axial displacement of a tool and the toolholder due to overload axial thrust into a circumferential relative displacement between the adjacent detection elements. The relative displacement of the detection elements is detected by a detection unit which issues a warning signal. A compression spring in the device resists the axial displacement of the toolholder unless the axial thrust exceeds a predetermined value.

    • An apparatus for controlling a drive of each one of spinning frames forming a group, to which a conventional roving bobbin exchange operation for exchanging almost exhausted roving bobbins of the spinning frame with full packaged roving bobbins of a bobbin carrier on a supply rail arranged at a position close to and above the corresponding spinning frame by a known automatic apparatus mounted on a carrier which is capable of displacing along a track arranged on a floor of a spinning factory along an alignment of out-end frames of said spinning frames, is applied, wherein during the spinning operation, a residual roving quantity of the roving bobbins of each spinning frame is measured, while detecting a quantity of yarn wound on cops in each spinning frame, and when the above-mentioned measurement of a residual quantity of roving bobbins reaches a predetermined value, a first signal indicating this condition is issued, while the quantity of yarn wound on the cops is measured to detect a suitable condition to start the above-mentioned roving bobbin exchange operation, and when this suitable condition is detected, a second signal indicating this condition is outputted, then a signal calling the automatic apparatus is outputted based upon the logical product of these two signals, and an allowable time for the arrival of the automatic apparatus at a working position close to a particular position and close to the out-end frame of a spinning frame is set, and if the automatic apparatus for exchanging roving bobbins does not arrive at the above-mentioned working position within the allowable time, the drive of the spinning frame concerned is stopped by a means for controlling the drive of the spinning frames which cooperates with the measurement of a residual quantity of a roving bobbin and measurement of a quantity of yarn wound on the cops.

    • An ironing apparatus for forming a cup-like metallic article such as an one-piece metallic can body is provided. The apparatus comprises a punch provided on a tip of a ram adapted to reciprocate in the horizontal direction and a plurality of ring dies cooperating with the punch. In the apparatus, the punch reciprocates such that the center of the end face thereof moves along a locus curved downwardly with the gravity, and the die is disposed to be slightly inclined with respect to a vertical plane such that the axis of the die extends substantially in the tangential direction of the locus at the location of the die.
