In manufacturing, forming a notch with an adhesive layer formed on an undersurface of an under substrate, under a connecting portion of the under substrate with a wiring substrate. After applying rollers for short a period of time for almost completely removing bubbles between the under substrate and the adhesive layer, adhering such under substrate to an upper substrate. Finally heating and pressing the connecting portion, connecting the wiring substrate to the substrates, obtaining the touch panel having a superior transparent visibility, easy to manufacture and of low cost.

    • Disclosed are a compact input device that offers a wide space for input operation and portable equipment using the device. The input operation section of the input device is not only for data entry by users, but also for transmitting sound vibration. The coupling section of the device is coupled to the input operation section to form a closed cavity between the two sections. The sound vibration transmitting section, which is formed adjacent to the closed cavity, conveys sound vibration, via the closed cavity, from the input operation section to the sound vibration transmitting section (or vice versa). The portable equipment includes the aforementioned input device and a sound vibration element. In the equipment, the sound vibration element is coupled to the sound vibration transmitting section of the input device. Sound vibration is transmitted, via the closed cavity and sound vibration transmitting section of the input device, from input operation section to the vibration element (or vice versa).

    • A printer controller for use with a thermal printer. A thermal printer used as a computer terminal printer requires a high printing speed and high print-quality in addition to reducing the load on the computer terminal. The printer controller of the present invention integrates the complicated control functions of the electrical components of a thermal printer, (i.e. thermal-head, motor, and various sensors) into an integrated circuit or a one-chip IC. Printers incorporating this controller attain highly improved and simplified operability and miniaturized dimensions. The printer controller includes a host-interface to receive communication data transmitted from a system including a host-computer, a receiver controller for receiving the output of the host-interface inputted through a data-bus and for controlling the communication data to be supplied to the thermal-head, a head driving data controller which controls the driving data to be supplied to the thermal-head which is controlled according to the temperature and the supply voltage, a motor controller for controlling the paper-feeding motor, a total controller for controlling all of the controllers including the receiver and controller, head driving data controller, and the motor controller through respective dedicated control lines, a memory for storing at least one of the controller procedures, and a printer interface for outputting various signals necessary to drive various devices mounted in the printer.
