摘要： There is disclosed an insert cutter which includes a tool body having a plurality of mounting recesses formed in an outer peripheral surface thereof and a plurality of cutter inserts each releasably secured to a respective one of the mounting recesses and a plurality of pressing members each received in a respective one of the holes. Each of the mounting recesses defines an abutment face facing axially forwardly of the tool body. The tool body has a plurality of holes formed in the outer peripheral surface thereof and extending radially inwardly thereof. Each of the holes has an inner wall and is displaced rearwardly of the tool body from a respective one of the mounting recesses. Each of the cutter inserts has a face held in contact with the abutment face of a respective one of the mounting recesses. Each pressing member is pressed against the inner wall of the hole, whereby that portion of the tool body between the hole and the mounting recess is elastically deformed.

摘要： A throwaway insert comprises an insert body formed in a polygonal shape, a cutting face formed by a polygonal face of the insert body, a corner cutting edge which is formed in a curved shape at a corner of the cutting face, a major cutting edge which is formed along a side edge of the cutting face that is connected to a first end of the corner cutting edge, and a concave portion which is formed, in another side edge of the cutting face that is connected to a second end of the corner cutting edge, so as to be adjacent to the second end of the corner cutting edge, and so as to be made concave toward the inside of the cutting face from a tangent of the corner cutting edge drawn at the second end of the corner cutting edge. By using the throwaway insert, cut chips are prevented from being packed in a gap between the throwaway insert and a surface being machined, and the fixing rigidity of the throwaway insert is increased.

摘要： There is disclosed a clamping mechanism for a cutting insert that clamps the cutting insert by inserting the cutting insert into an insert mounting seat. The insert mounting seat is formed in a tip of a holder having a pair of contacting surfaces facing each other, and the cutting insert has a pair of contact surfaces to come in contact with the pair of contacting surfaces, respectively. The tip of the holder is provided with a pair of jaws that is formed with the pair of contacting surfaces, respectively, and that can be elastically deformed relatively in a direction that the contacting surfaces contact the contact surfaces, and a clamping means that elastically deforms the pair of jaws to bring relatively the pair of contacting surfaces close to each other and to separate them relatively from each other.
