摘要： A communication apparatus realizes an FEC function. In the communication apparatus, a T_FEC-pattern comparing unit calculates a code distance between a pattern of an input FEC frame falling in a certain detection window and the pre-defined T_FEC pattern for each of the detection windows one after another. Moreover, a code-distance comparing unit compares the code distances with each other to detect a code for boundary identification T_FEC between an IEEE802.3 frame and a FEC parity. Finally, a boundary-signal generating unit generates, based on the detected code for boundary identification T_FEC, a T_FEC boundary signal that indicates a detection position of the T_FEC in the input FEC frame.

摘要： In cases where a consumer desires to receive digital content from a digital content retailer through a network, information designating the digital content and a digital content transmission condition such as a transfer rate and a transmission time-zone are sent to the digital content retailer through the network. The digital content retailer reserves the transfer rate and the transmission time-zone in the network and downloads the digital content to the consumer through the network at the digital content transmission condition according to the reservation. After the downloading of the digital content is completed, the consumer pays a charge for the digital content itself and a transmission charge corresponding to the digital content transmission condition to a credit company, the credit company pays the charges to the digital content retailer, and the digital content retailer pays the transmission charge to a network operator managing the network. Therefore, the consumer can specify a time condition like the transmission time-zone for the downloading of the digital content. Also, because it is not required that the consumer directly pays the transmission charge to the network operator, the payment of the consumer can be efficiently performed.

摘要： A magnetic recording medium based on the perpendicular recording system, which has high coercivity and low medium noise, is provided by using an underlayer which has a thin film thickness and which makes it possible to improve the orientation of a recording layer. The magnetic recording medium based on the perpendicular recording system has the recording layer which is formed of a CoPtCr alloy magnetic film containing oxygen. The magnetic recording medium has such a structure that an adhesive layer 2, a soft magnetic back layer 3, the underlayer 4, the recording layer 5, and a protective layer 6 are successively stacked on a substrate 1. A CoCrRu film, which has a film thickness of 5 nm to 20 nm, is used as the underlayer for the recording layer formed of the CoPtCr alloy magnetic film containing oxygen. Thus, it is possible to improve the crystalline orientation of the recording layer with the underlayer having the thin film thickness.
