    • The present invention is directed to a rear-projection screen which encompasses 1) a flexible light-diffusive first film having a substantially smooth first surface and an opposing substantially smooth second surface, and comprising a wax-free amorphous thermoplastic matrix having a plurality of light-diffusing particles dispersed therein and which is lens-free; and 2) an opposing flexible light-absorption second film having a first surface and an opposing second surface, and comprising a thermoplastic matrix having a plurality of light-absorbing particles dispersed therein, wherein the first and second films are adapted to be 3) bonded together in direct contact with each other and then, affixed as a laminate to one or more transparent rigid substrates or 4) affixed individually to a transparent rigid substrate.

    • A double-sided silicone-coated liner, particularly adapted for use in self-wound tapes is described which is a paper upon which a silicone coating layer is deposited on one surface and a water vapor permeable silicone coating layer is applied on the liner's opposed second surface. The liner surfaces may optionally be clay coated, the clay coating adjacent to the water vapor permeable silicone coating layer also having water vapor permeability.The tape made using this particular liner typically additionally has a carrier layer with an adhesive sandwiched between the silicone coating layer and the carrier. The tape is prepared by the steps of coating the liner with a silicone layer on a first side of the liner; drying the silicone layer; coating an adhesive onto an exposed surface of the silicone layer; laminating a carrier layer onto the adhesive; coating a second side of the liner, opposed from the first side with a water vapor permeable silicone layer; drying the water vapor permeable silicone layer; and remoisturizing the liner.

    • A pressure-sensitive laminate composition is described which enables the easy detection of improperly die-cut patterns which has a backing material, a silicone release coating, a non-migratory colorant dispersed in the silicone, a pressure-sensitive adhesive, and a face stock. Alternatively, a release liner composition is described having a non-migratory silicone coating on a backing material. One colorant used is carbon black. The carbon black is dispersed in the release layer either in a solvent-free system, or in an organic medium, which is preferably a mixed organic solvent, in which at least one of the solvents used is at least partially polar.
