    • An x-ray inspection is provided featuring a single x-ray source and a planar array of linear sensors aligned in parallel. An article to be inspected is moved between the x-ray source and the linear sensors in a series of passes parallel to the array of linear sensors and substantially perpendicular to the long axes of the linear sensors. Alternately, the x-ray source and the sensors are moved as a unit relative to a stationary article. As a result, a transmission image of the article is captured for each of the linear sensors. These transmission images are then combined mathematically to generate a layer image for each separate conceptual layer of the article. In some embodiments, these layer images may then be interpreted in order to determine the quality of the article.

    • A counter of modulus n counts the oscillations of a variable frequency oscillator whose center frequency is n-times the nominal frequency of digital data having phase variations. The occurrence of a selected value of the count may be taken as a phase corrected clock for the digital data. Differences between successive values in the counter as pulses of the digital data occur indicate shifts in phase thereof, while the modularity prevents absent data pulses from contributing to the phase error. Successive counts are captured, made available as phase error information in digital form, and used to drive a digital-to-analog converter whose output controls the variable frequency oscillator.

    • The present disclosure relates to a system and method for processing sending information in a sending device. The method comprises receiving at least a fragment of a destination address/number to which information is to be sent; cross-referencing the address/number fragment with a database assigned to the user to see if the address/number matches an address/number saved for that user; and automatically caching the address/number in the user's database if it has not been previously saved. The system therefore comprises logic configured to receive at least a fragment of a destination address/number to which information is to be sent; logic configured to cross-reference the address/number fragment with a database assigned to the user to see if the address/number matches an address/number saved for that user; and logic configured to automatically cache the address/number in the user's database if it has not been previously saved.

    • In one embodiment, a method for designing a radiographic imaging system includes 1) receiving a number of design constraints for the system, and then 2) in response to the constraints, generating a plurality of radiographic imaging system designs, each having a different number of radiographic sources, and each requiring a different number of nominal scan passes to image a specimen region of interest. Designs having a greater number of radiographic sources have sets of translated radiographic detection areas sharing at least some coincident, nominal scan passes as compared to radiographic imaging system designs having fewer radiographic sources. Each set of translated radiographic detection areas is associated with a radiographic source that is replicated and translated with respect to a radiographic source that forms part of a radiographic imaging system design having fewer radiographic sources. Related systems and apparatus are also disclosed.
