    • A resealable dispensing container assembly for moist products comprises a first container of bag-like form constructed of liquid impervious flexible sheet material with the moist products sealed therein. The bag-like container has a weakened tear line encircling a first predetermined area on a first side thereof to permit selective removal of the predetermined area to define a discharge opening for removing moist products from the interior of the bag-like container. A removable flap member is adhered to the bag-like container in overlying and adhered relationship to the predetermined area such that pulling the flap from the bag-like container tears the first predetermined area therefrom to open the discharge opening. A second container of box-like form and constructed of relatively rigid sheet material encloses the bag-like container. The box-like container has a first wall closely overlying the first predetermined area of the bag-like container. The first wall has a weakened tear line encircling a second predetermined area thereof which overlies and is at least substantially as large as the first predetermined area in the side of the bag-like container. A relatively rigid cover is pivoted relative to the first wall and overlies a second predetermined area. The cover is bonded to the second predetermined area of the first wall such that pivoting of the cover causes the second predetermined area to be torn from the first wall to provide access to the first predetermined area of the bag-like container.

    • A round tray and a blank for making the tray. The tray has a bottom panel, a plurality of intermediate panels symetrically disposed about the center of the bottom panel, and a plurality of upstanding panels to form the sides of the tray. The upstanding panels may be tilted slightly outward in a conical shape to cause the diameter of the top of the tray to be slightly larger than the diameter of the bottom of the tray. Alternate ones of the upstanding panels are positioned on the inside of the tray, and their adjacent upstanding panels have circumferentially extending glue flaps which overlap the inner panels. The total number of upstanding panels and the total number of intermediate panels are equal, with each upstanding panel being foldable relative to an intermediate panel immediately below it about a first set of fold or score lines. The intermediate panels, in turn, are folded upward from the horizontal about a second set of fold or score lines. The boundaries of the intermediate panels are each formed by a score line from the first set and a score line from the second set of score lines, the first and second score lines of a particular panel coming together at points on the edges of the intermediate panel and on the edges of the upstanding panels. A point of intersection of the first and second score lines which define the edges of an intermediate panel is also the point of intersection for the first and second score lines of the next adjacent intermediate panel. Those points of intersection are formed on a circle about the center of the base panel but elevated slightly above the plane of the base panel.

    • Method and apparatus for forming a sealed pouch from a paperboard blank having a heat activatable sealing material on a surface thereof. Blanks are received in an initial position above opposed curved forming surfaces and underneath a reciprocating mandrel, with the blank being folded about the mandrel as the mandrel drives the blank in a longitudinal direction between the forming surfaces. Application of heated air activates the heat sealable material, and folding plates fold the longitudinal edges of the blank inwardly to a position where clamping bars can clamp the longitudinal edges together to complete the heat seal. The folding plates and clamping bars withdraw after the heat seal is completed, and the formed pouch is ejected from the mandrel which thereafter reciprocates to its initial position to allow another blank to be inserted above the forming surfaces.
