摘要： Disclosed herein are systems and methods that are directed to alleviating the hidden node problem occurring in wireless systems by using the simultaneous transmission and reception (STR) capability without increasing the medium access layer (MAC) overhead. Accordingly, a receiving device receiving a data packet from a transmitting device can simultaneously transmit a data packet, called a STR Clear to Send (CTS). This STR-CTS can create a guard zone around the receiving device to avoid collisions from unwanted transmissions from secondary devices, e.g., neighboring STAs and/or APs. In various embodiments, the STR-CTS packet transmitted by the receiving device can be decodable by legacy devices, e.g. legacy STAs and APs, as well as next generation devices, for example, those employing unlicensed technologies such as LAA.

摘要： A technology for an enhanced node B (eNode B) in a cellular network that is operable to determine downtilt using full dimensional (FD) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO). A plurality of orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) signals can be transmitted, wherein each transmitted OFDMA signal is transmitted with a selected downtilt angle from a two dimensional antenna array of the eNode B. Reference signal received power (RSRP) feedback information can be received from a UE for each of transmitted OFDMA signals at the selected downtilt angles. Received signal strength indicator (RSSI) feedback information can be received from the UE. A reference signal received quality (RSRQ) can be calculated for each of the selected antennas angles using the RSRP feedback information and the RSSI feedback information. A downtilt angle can be selected for transmitting data from the eNode B with a highest signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR).

The method is executable by a wireless communication base station having multiple antennas configured to communicate wirelessly with the mobile user equipment. The method receives an uplink probing signal from the mobile user equipment. The method determines a plurality of angles of arrival for a corresponding plurality of paths between the mobile user equipment and the multiple antennas. The method transmits a plurality of downlink probing signals directionally toward corresponding angles of arrival in the plurality of angles of arrival. Each downlink probing signal is a virtual antenna port with respect to the mobile user equipment. The method receives channel state information. The method composes at least one of a rank indicator (RI), precoding matrix indicator (PMI), or modulating and coding scheme (MCS) for downlink data transmission to the mobile user equipment.

摘要： Techniques for transmitting and receiving data with hybrid automatic retransmission (HARQ) and network coding via block operation are disclosed. In one design, a transmitter transmits a first block of packets to multiple receivers and receives ACK/NAK feedback for the first block of packets from the receivers. The transmitter identifies candidate packets for network coding based on the ACK/NAK feedback. A pool of candidate packets changes over time as more ACK/NAK feedback for transmitted packets is received from the receivers. The transmitter generates at least one network-coded packet based on the candidate packets. Each network-coded packet may be generated by channel coding each of at least two packets and combining the at least two packets after channel coding. The transmitter transmits another block of packets to the receivers. This block includes the at least one network-coded packet and may also include pending packets and/or new packets.
