    • A digital photo frame (DPF) capable of indicating battery is provided. The DPF includes a light-emitting diode (LED) unit, a battery, a battery detection unit, a processing unit, and a display control unit. The battery detection unit is connected to the battery and is configured to detect the charge of the battery and output a low battery alarm signal when the charge of the battery is below a predetermined value. The processing unit is connected to the battery detection unit, and is configured to producing a control signal when receiving the low battery alarm signal. The display control unit is connected to the processing unit and the LED unit, and is configured to control the LED unit to change its display state when receiving the control signal.

    • The present invention can recognize both English and Chinese at the same time. The most important skill is that the features of all English words (without samples) are entirely extracted from the features of Chinese syllables. The invention normalizes the signal waveforms of variable lengths for English words (Chinese syllables) such that the same words (syllables) can have the same features at the same time position. Hence the Bayesian classifier can recognize both the fast and slow utterance of sentences. The invention can improve the feature such that the speech recognition of the unknown English (Chinese) is guaranteed to be correct. Furthermore, since the invention can create the features of English words from the features of Chinese syllables, it can also create the features of other languages from the features of Chinese syllables and hence it can also recognize other languages, such as German, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, etc.

    • An optical contact controlled medium display includes a computing device containing at least one information, an indication device connected to the computing device via a video signal unit to indicate the at least one information of the computing device, and an optical position detection device mounted on the indication device and electrically connected to the computing device.     • A gene marker for the detection of oral cancer, comprising methylated CpG sites in target genes, is provided. The CpG sites in the target genes are selected from a group consisting of the following CpG sites: FLT4_E206_F, ASCL1_E24_F, KDR_E79_F, TFPI2_P9_F, TERT_E20_F, ADCYAP1_P455_R, MT1A_P49_R, and combinations thereof. A method for the detection of oral cancer, comprising the following steps is also provided: a) providing a sample to be examined from an individual; b) detecting a methylation state of at least one CpG site in a target gene on the genomic DNA from cells of the sample, wherein the CpG site in the target gene is selected from a group consisting of the following CpG sites: FLT4_E206_F, ASCL1_E24_F, KDR_E79_F, TFPI2_P9_F, TERT_E20_F, ADCYAP1_P455_R, and MT1A_P49_R; and c) determining if the individual has oral cancer based on the methylation state of the selected CpG site in the target gene.

    • A digital photo frame (DPF) capable of automatically changing display mode is provided. The DPF includes a display unit, a motion detector, a processing unit, and a storage unit. The motion detector is configured to detect whether there is someone around the DPF, and produce a display switching signal if someone is around the DPF. The processing unit detects current display mode when it receives the display switching signal and change the display mode of the DPF to a slide show mode if current display mode is a still mode. The motion detector also produce a stop signal when it detects nobody around the DPF, the processing unit controls the display unit to display the pictures in the still mode when it receives the stop signal and detects current display mode is the slide show mode.
