    • A method of generating electrode stimulation signals for an implanted electrode array is described. An acoustic audio signal is processed to generate band pass signals which each represent an associated band of audio frequencies. For each band pass signal, fine time structure information is extracted to determine a sequence of phase event signals. For each sequence of phase event signals, when the number of phase event signals reaches a channel pitch rate factor, a signal limiting period without signals is introduced to produce a modified sequence of phase event signals. Each modified sequence of phase event signals is weighted with a channel amplitude value in order to generate a set of electrode stimulation signals for the implanted electrode array.

    • A system and method of signal processing for a hearing implant. The hearing implant includes at least one electrode, each electrode associated with a channel specific sampling sequence. An acoustic audio signal is processed to generate for each electrode a band pass signal representing an associated band of audio frequency. For each electrode, a sequence signal is determined as a function of the electrode's associated band pass signal and channel specific sampling sequence. An envelope of each band pass signal is determined. The envelope of each band pass signal is filtered to reduce modulations resulting from unresolved harmonics, creating for each electrode an associated filtered envelope signal. Each electrode's sequence signal is weighted based, at least in part, on the electrode's associated filtered envelope signal.

    • An implantable stimulation arrangement is described for generating electrode stimulation signals for an implanted electrode array having stimulation electrodes. A filter bank pre-processor processes an input acoustic audio signal to generate band pass signals each corresponding to an associated band of audio frequencies. A signal envelope module computes a corresponding signal envelope for each band pass signal. A stimulation pulse generator extracts stimulation signal information from the rate of change of the signal envelopes such as a time-based derivative to generate stimulation event signals defining electrode stimulation timings and amplitudes for some or all of the stimulation electrodes.

    • A method and a device for warning the driver of a motor vehicle about a traffic situation involving an increased collision risk are provided. For this purpose, signals of at least one object detector representing motion quantities of detected objects and signals of at least one motion sensor system of the host vehicle are suppliable to an analyzer device. The computing device precalculates all possible motion trajectories for all detected objects and for the host vehicle, taking into account maximum acceleration or deceleration values and maximum change in acceleration or deceleration values over time and, when an imminent collision is recognized, issues a warning to the driver that higher acceleration or deceleration values and/or change in acceleration or deceleration values are needed to avoid a collision.

A preprocessor filter bank processes an input acoustic audio signal to generate band pass signals that each represent an associated band of audio frequencies.
