    • An extendable hedge trimmer includes a housing having a handle end and a tool end. The handle end includes a battery and an electrical connector. The tool end includes a hedge trimming implement, a motor, and an electrical connector. The electrical connector of the tool end is electrically connected with the motor. Wiring is included within the handle end for electrically connecting the battery and the electrical connector of the handle end. The trimmer also includes a pole which is releasably connectable between the tool end and the handle end. The pole is configured for electrically connecting the handle end with the tool end. The trimmer also includes a latch mechanism for releasably attaching the pole between tool end and handle end. The trimmer also includes an input for receiving AC line power via a power cord, the trimmer configured for being power by AC line power and/or battery power.

    • A mounting device suitable for use with a conventional bathroom tissue fixture. The mounting device may be used to support a dispenser from a conventional bathroom tissue fixture. In some embodiments, the mounting device includes a positioning member, a first support member, a second support member and a linkage operatively disposed between at least one of the support members and the positioning member whereby movement of the positioning member causes relative motion between the distal ends of the first and second support members. Latching mechanisms may also be used with the invention to inhibit the relative motion of the first and second support members. The mounting device may also include a housing and an attachment mechanism, such as a threaded fastener for attaching a dispenser to the mounting device. The housing may also have a longitudinal dimension and be configured whereby the lateral axis defined by the support members is asymmetrically located with respect to the longitudinal dimension of the housing. The attachment mechanism may also be adapted to attach the mounting device to a dispenser in two different positions whereby the lateral axis has a different relative position with respect to the dispenser in the two different positions. The housing may also include a longitudinally extending engagement surface which is engageable with the dispenser and facilitates the alignment of the mounting device and the dispenser.

    • A dispensing system and method for premoistened wipes. The dispensing system includes first and second longitudinally extending dispensing guides. The first guide is positioned substantially parallel and in proximity to the second guide to define a gap. The dispensing guides may each be rotatable about a longitudinally extending axis and comprise cylinders having a plurality of lands and grooves. The wipes are dispensed by passage through the gap and a dispensing opening having an edge which is defined in part by an impingement surface. The impingement surface has a first outer portion, a second outer portion and a central portion positioned between the two outer portions. The impingement surface is configured whereby the outer portions of the impingement surface more forcibly engage the wipe into engagement with the dispensing guides than the central portion of the impingement surface. This helps to maintain the wipes in a substantially flat condition as they are dispensed and prevents the “bunching up” of the wipe. The dispensing of the wipes with such a system may involve engaging a wipe with the impingement surface where outer portions of the impingement surface extend a greater distance than the central portion in a direction impinging on the wipe. The two outer portions of the impingement surface engage the wipe in areas adjacent opposite side edges of the wipe.

    • A valve used in a sewage handling system allows outer casing components to be disconnected from each other while both of the fluid transporting or retaining components that are connected to the valve remain sealed from the environment when the valve is in a closed position. Yet, the valve can be operated by simple rotation of a single actuator. For example, the valve connects a conduit connected to a toilet with a sewage holding tank. The valve includes first and second connecting parts of an outer casing which are circular cross section housed cylinders with one end perpendicular to the axis of elongation of the cylinder and the second end forming an oval face disposed at an angle of about 35.degree.-55.degree. to the axis of elongation. First and second inner valve components have the same basic shape as the outer casing parts so that when the first inner element is aligned with a first outer casing part, the valve is completely closed and may be disassembled, whereas when the inner and outer parts are out of phase 180.degree., the valve is completely open and allows sewage to flow from the conduit to the holding tank.
