摘要： A shoulder pad includes a flexible base member having a top surface, a bottom surface, a central portion, opposite first and second free ends and a longitudinal axis. The flexible base member includes a plurality of longitudinally space, oval-shaped pad sections that increase in thickness from the central portion of the shoulder pad toward at lease one of the first and second free ends. The longitudinally spaced pad sections may also increase in durometer hardness from a centermost pad section to the longitudinally outermost pad sections. For attachment of the pad to a shoulder strap, the pad includes at lease one clip from making snap-on engagement with the pad. For added durability, the shoulder pad further preferably includes a thin spine, which is more rigid than the flexible base member and is attached to the top surface of the flexible base member.

摘要： An adaptive high speed data transmission system is described. In one aspect, the transmitter for this system employs a plurality of transmit antennas which have controllable offsets. The transmitter also includes signal coding circuitry suitable for use to address transmission impairments due to fast fading in the transmission channel. At the receiver, the received signal is analyzed to determine the fading characteristics of the channel. Where slow fading is detected, the offsets are employed to convert the slow fading into fast fading. The channel characteristics are continually resampled and these characteristics are used to adjust the transmitter and the receiver to achieve optimal transmission speed.

摘要： A system and method for generating a coherent reference signal for extracting desired user signals from received signals even after error propagation is underway, are presented. A data symbol preceding a sequence whose relative phases are known is used as an absolute phase reference. Since errors in detection of the phase reference symbol are usually caused by error propagation already underway, the sequence can be used to reacquire the desired signal with merely an absolute phase shift in detected data, which allows accurate differential detection of the desired user signal even in the absence of absolute phase knowledge.

摘要： An apparatus for performance improvement of a burst mode digital wireless receiver has a processing circuit for processing a plurality of received signals and providing a processed signal and a delay circuit for introducing a predetermined delay to the processed signal. The delay circuit is coupled to the processing circuit. The predetermined delay is such that the processed signal is delayed to correspond with a later data burst. The processing circuit weights and combines the received signals, where the processing circuit reduces a mean squared error of an output signal. 摘要： A communication system and method, particularly adapted for use in adaptive antenna arrays, are presented. A plurality of signals containing a desired signal, interference, and noise are received through an array of antennas connected to a base receiving station. The signal arriving at each antenna is weighted according to computations which adjust those weights as a function of received interference and noise power in an unequal manner, based on the estimation accuracy of the interference and noise, which in turn depends on factors such as interference to noise power ratios and fading rate.
