摘要： A method for manufacturing an ophthalmic lens comprising introducing a volume of photocurable lens material into a container, wherein said container comprises a mold surface. The method further comprises creating a digital 3-D mathematical model defining corrective needs of an eye and projecting programmed patterns of UV light through said mold via a pattern generator, wherein said programmed patterns of UV light cure said photocurable lens material into a lens shape defined by said mold surface and said digital model.

摘要： This invention provides a method for efficiently applying a coating to each of a plurality of objects selected from the group consisting of ophthalmic lenses, molds for making ophthalmic lenses, and other medical devices, the method comprising dipping the plurality of objects into a coating bath containing a coating solution having a coating material; and creating with a means a convective current flow and thereby forcing a coating solution flowing over and under each of the plurality of ophthalmic lenses. In a preferred embodiment, the plurality of objects are held in baskets which are pre-conditioned to have a first layer of polyelectrolytes and a second layer of aqueous solution or have a mixed layer of polyelectrolytes and aqueous solution on the surfaces of the baskets.

The method comprises: providing the fluids, one at a time, to treat the articles in a treatment system, wherein the treatment system comprises one or more trays each of which has one or more baskets, each basket capable of holding one article, and wherein said trays are stacked to form a vessel or are stacked and placed within a preformed vessel, said vessel or preformed vessel comprising a first entrance/exit and a second entrance/exit for the fluids; and each time one of the fluids is provided to treat the articles, (a) flushing continuously the articles with the fluid in a first flow direction from the first entrance/exit to the second entrance/exit, (b) reversing the flow direction of the fluid, (c) flushing continuously the articles with the fluid in a second direction from the second entrance/exit to the first entrance/exit for a second period of time, and (d) if necessary, repeating steps (a) to (c) for a desired number of times.
