    • A plunger lock assembly having a removable core is provided. The lock assembly includes a housing defining a first longitudinal bore and a barrel reciprocably mounted within the first longitudinal bore between an advanced position and a retracted position. The barrel defines a second longitudinal bore and is operably associated with a plunger. A core is removable mounted within the second longitudinal bore of the barrel and includes a key slot for receiving an operating key. A drive member is positioned within the second longitudinal bore and is movable from an unlocked position to a locked position by operation of the operating key. A retainer assembly is operably associated with the drive member to axially retain the drive member within the second longitudinal bore such that the core is removable from the second longitudinal bore independently of the drive member. A biasing member is provided for urging the barrel towards the retracted position.

    • A device to be attached to a handcuff or leg iron that disables the existing key that is used to lock and unlock the handcuff or leg iron and replaces it with a locking mechanism that utilizes a non-universal key. The locking mechanism is preferably parallel to the pivot access of the handcuff locking arm and its keyway is spaced above the cheek plates of the body of the handcuff or leg iron and therefore is more difficult to access by the prisoner. The locking mechanism is set by insertion of a key into the same keyway, in a ready to lock position in which the handcuff or leg iron can be tightened but not loosened, or in a triple locked position in which the handcuff or leg iron cannot be tightened or loosened. This triple lock is in addition to the double lock position that is typically offered by the original handcuff or leg iron. The locking mechanism of the device can be removed and re-keyed and is of a pick resistant type and the keys are available only to authorized users; they are not available to the general public.

    • A preassembled cam lock assembly comprising is disclosed which includes a housing defining a throughbore configured to receive an interchangeable lock core. A tail piece is fixedly secured on a rear face of the housing. The tail piece defines a stepped bore including an arc-shaped cutout. Each end of the arc-shaped cutout defines a stop surface. A cam driver is configured to be rotatably retained in the stepped bore of the tail piece. The cam driver includes a first end defining an arc shaped lost motion slot and a second end adapted to engage a cam. The cam driver has a plurality of spaced bores which are dimensioned to receive a driver pin which is movably positioned within the cutout of the tail piece between the stop surfaces. A cam is secured to the second end of the cam driver adjacent the tail piece. A drive member is positioned within the throughbore of the housing and is adapted to engage an interchangeable lock core such that actuation of the interchangeable lock core effects rotation of the cam driver. The drive member includes a drive pin which is slidably positioned within the lost motion slot of the cam driver such that rotation of the drive member moves the drive pin through the lost motion slot such that the driver pin engages an end of the lost motion slot to effect rotation of the cam driver.

    • A tamper resistant lock assembly is disclosed which is configured to prevent keyless operation of the lock assembly. The tamper resistant lock assembly includes a lock housing having a bolt slidably supported therein and a strike. The lock housing is secured to a mounting plate which is adapted to be fastened to a movable member such as a door. The strike is adapted to be fastened to a support member such as a door jam at a position to facilitate engagement between the bolt and the strike when the movable member is in a closed position. The strike includes a C-shaped catch member defining a recess having an opening which is configured to receive an engagement portion of the strike when the movable member is in the closed position. The engagement portion of the strike is also C-shaped and defines a recess. When the engagement portion of the presently disclosed strike is engaged by the catch member of the presently disclosed bolt, a lip portion of the bolt is positioned within the recess of the engagement portion of the strike and a lip portion of the strike is positioned within the recess of the catch member of the strike to provide an interlocking engagement which resists tampering.

    • A set of handcuffs having an improved locking mechanism. The locking mechanism preferably includes a cylinder lock that is positioned substantially parallel to the pivot axis of the locking arm. The keyway of the locking mechanism is spaced above the plane of the cheek plates of the body of the handcuffs and therefore is more difficult to access by the prisoner than prior art locking mechanisms. The locking mechanism may be set, by insertion of a key into the same keyway, in a ready to lock position in which the handcuffs can only be tightened but not loosened, or in a double locked position in which the handcuffs cannot be tightened or loosened. Preferably, the keyway of the locking mechanism is a restricted keyway such that only keys purchased directly from the manufacturer or someone licensed by the manufacturer or factory can be inserted into the keyway to adjust the setting of the locking mechanism.
