    • An ac generator for a vehicle includes a multi-poled rotor, a stator having a multi-phase stator winding which has output lead wires, a full-wave rectifier unit, and a frame having a wall supporting the stator at one side thereof and the rectifier unit at the other side. The output lead wires are grouped to form a plurality of bundles. The wall has lead-wire-holes formed to correspond to the bundles. The rectifier unit has input terminals disposed to correspond to the bundles and respectively connected to the output lead wires.

    • An alternating current generator having a first Y-form three-phase connecting circuit including three first windings connected with each other in a Y-form, a first rectifying circuit for rectifying currents output from output terminals of the three first windings, a second Y-form three-phase connecting circuit including three second windings connected with each other in a Y-form, and a second rectifying circuit for rectifying currents outputted from output terminals of the three second windings. The three first windings are inserted in slots of a stator core so that the three first windings have phase differences of approximately 120 degrees from each other. Each of the three second windings is divided into first and second winding portions which are inserted in separate slots of the stator core, in which the three first windings are inserted so that resultant output vectors of the respective two divided windings have respective phase differences of approximately 30 degrees with respect to output vectors of the respective three first windings. By virtue of the above-mentioned structure, the number of slots in the stator core is reduced, the ripple contained in a resultant output waveform is decreased by adding together output currents of the first and second rectifying circuits, respectively, and heat generation due to a circulating current flowing in the connecting circuits can be prevented by avoiding the use of a delta-form three-phase connecting circuit.

    • A stator coil of a rotary electric machine includes a three-phase Y-form connection circuit including first windings Y1, Y2 and Y3, which are connected in Y-form, and a three-phase delta-form connection circuit including second windings .increment.x3, .increment.y3 and .increment.z3 which are connected in delta-form, wherein the second windings .increment.x3, .increment.y3 and .increment.z3 are sequentially inserted in slots of a stator core to have a phase difference of 120.degree. therebetween, and each of the first windings Y1, Y2 and Y3 is divided into two windings, and the divided first windings are separately inserted in the slots, in which the second windings .increment.x3, .increment.y3 and .increment.z3 have been inserted, so that the resultant composite voltage vector of each pair of the divided first windings is shifted by 30.degree. in phase from the voltage vector of one of the second windings .increment.x3, .increment.y3 and .increment.z3. By virtue of the foregoing structure of the rotary electric machinery, the number of slots decreases and an electromagnetic noise is reduced, since a magnetic force due to the air gap magnetomotive force distribution becomes substantially constant independently of a rotational position of a rotor.

    • In a rectifying device of a vehicle ac generator, a positive-side radiating fin and a negative-side radiating fin are arranged to oppose each other in an axial direction and a terminal board is interposed therebetween. One of the fins, which is directly fixed to a frame, is substantially in an arc shape having a circular arc angle of equal to or more than 180 degrees and separated into two partial radiating fins at a substantially middle part in a circumferential direction. Each of the partial radiating fins has two fixing portions near its radially outer end. Screws are inserted into the fixing portions and tightened to threaded holes provided in the frame to fasten the rectifying device to the frame. Instead of separating the fin into the partial radiating fins, a groove is provided on a surface of the fin.
