摘要： A compact opposed piston pump minimizes axial spacing between its pistons on the drive shaft and thereby reduces the shaking couple and noise from reciprocation. Each piston has its own eccentric element press-fit into the connecting rods so as not to occupy space between the pistons. The shaking couple can be further reduced for pistons of different masses by selecting the mass of the eccentrics to compensate for the difference in piston masses. The pump also includes an improved cylinder sealing arrangement having a circumferential groove in an angled surface at the end of the cylinder. The pump also has a special two piece cover and seal for closing the open neck of the pump crankcase and an improved multi-lobed valve stop. The pump further uses tubular transfer members for transferring intake and/or exhaust air into the crankcase and/or between valve heads.

摘要： A conductor lead and power cord retention system for a compressor/pump has a unique bushing for capturing and pinching the cord in an opening in the pump housing. The bushing has a leading end defining an open-ended slot. The bushing slides into a pocket in the housing and overlaps an open-ended slot in the housing. Overlapping the slots creates a bounded (circular for example) opening sized to snuggly pinch the cord sheathing without damaging the conductors. The slots are shaped and sized to accommodate a variety of cord diameters. The bushing is retained in the recess by a pair of angled snap tabs that engage notches and further by mounting of the drive motor to the housing, which forces the bushing against the housing to prevent rattling as well as helps maintain the necessary pinch force and prevents the bushing from being removed without tools.

摘要： A two-cylinder air compressor has a motor with a through drive shaft. Identical housings are provided at each end of a cylindrical spacer sleeve that surrounds the motor. The housings include cylinder housing extensions each of which mounts a cylinder sleeve, a valve plate, and a head. The heads are part of a one-piece cylinder head member. Wobble pistons are mounted on each end of the motor shaft and operate in the cylinder sleeves. The cylinder sleeves rest on a floor in the housing which has integrally formed passages for cooling air to circulate around the cylinder sleeves. The one-piece cylinder head member includes integral tubes connecting the heads. The integral tubes span the distance between the heads and are spaced from the outside of the spacer. The housings may be joined by through bolts or without bolts by press fitting the bearings in the housing, press fitting the housings to the spacer sleeve, and press fitting the motor shaft into the bearings. The one-piece cylinder head serves as the final retention member, clamping the housings axially while maintaining radial orientation.
