摘要： Thermal management arrangements for analysis systems including a plasma source such as inductively-coupled-plasma are disclosed. An analysis system may include a plasma source configured to a plasma source configured to receive and ionize a sample to create an ionized sample, and an instrument such as a mass spectrometer or optical emission spectrometer configured to receive and analyze the ionized sample. A heat shield may be positioned between the plasma source and the instrument, and the heat shield may be constructed and arranged to direct heated gas and/or plasma from the plasma source away from the instrument. In some instances, the heated gas and/or plasma may be extracted from a chamber containing the plasma source.

摘要： Shorting bars are provided for electrostatic discharge protection as a portion of trace deposition in a photodiode array. During normal processing for etching of the metal layers, the shorting bars are removed without additional processing requirements. Additional shorting elements are provided by employing FET silicon layers having traces in contact with the array traces to provide extended ESD protection until removal of those shorting elements during normal processing for opening vias for photodiode bottom contact.

摘要： Presented herein are systems and methods for tomographic imaging of a region of interest in a subject using short-wave infrared light to provide for accurate reconstruction of absorption maps within the region of interest. The reconstructed absorption maps are representations of the spatial variation in tissue absorption within the region of interest. The reconstructed absorption maps can themselves be used to analyze anatomical properties and biological processes within the region of interest, and/or be used as input information about anatomical properties in order to facilitate data processing used to obtain images of the region of interest via other imaging modalities. For example, the reconstructed absorption maps may be incorporated into forward models that are used in tomographic reconstruction processing in fluorescence and other contrast-based tomographic imaging modalities. Incorporating reconstructed absorption maps into other tomographic reconstruction processing algorithms in this manner improves the accuracy of the resultant reconstructions.

摘要： A metallic seal is provided that concentrates the available load over a narrow band to produce a sealing dam over a sufficient width to minimize leakage on a molecular level. The metallic seal has a first annular beam section, a second annular beam section, and inner and outer surfaces extending between the first and second annular beam sections. One of the inner and outer surfaces has an annular recess that at least partially defines an annular column section of material extending substantially perpendicular between said first and second annular beam sections thereto. The first annular beam section has a first non-sealing surface and a first raised portion with a first annular sealing surface facing in a first axial direction to contact a first member for creating a first annular sealing dam therebetween. The second annular beam section has a second non-sealing surface and a first raised portion with a second annular sealing surface facing in a second axial direction, which is opposite to the first axial direction, to contact a second member for creating a second annular sealing dam therebetween. The annular inner surface extends between the first and second sealing surfaces to form a central passageway. The metallic seal is used to create a seal between a pair of mating surfaces of a first member and a second member. First and second members are coupled together by a plurality of fasteners or bolts. By tightening the fasteners the seal is loaded, and thus, compressed to plastically deform and create an annular seal between the first and second members.

摘要： A pressure-energized, annular metallic seal is provided that includes a central annular portion and a pair of annular leg portions extending from the central portion. Each leg portion includes a convex sealing surface lying in sealing plane. One of the leg portions preferably has an annular flange offset from its sealing plane in an axial direction towards the sealing plane of the other leg portion. One of the leg portions preferably has at least one radially extending tab projecting further than adjacent parts of the seal. The seal is preferably manufactured by first cutting a first annular edge in a metallic sheet material, then bending the sheet material substantially into the shape of the seal, and then cutting a second annular edge to complete the shape of the seal. The second annular edge preferably defines the annular flange and/or the at least one tab.

摘要： A flexible, reliable and economical DC to DC power converter system includes a plurality of DC to DC converter units, a pulse width modulation current share bus interconnecting the DC to DC converter units and a synchronization signal connected to each of the DC to DC converter units to synchronize each of the DC to DC converter units to the same frequency. Each DC to DC converter unit includes a power section, a controller and a standard universal interface connecting the power section to the controller such that the power section can be changed to accommodate different input voltages, output voltages and current loads without making significant hardware changes in the controller. The controller includes a digital signal processor having a calibration table matching control parameters to the specific circuit characteristics of the power section. The digital signal processor has a clock signal synchronized to the synchronization signal, resolves master/slave contention for controlling the output voltage in response to signals sent and received over the current share bus and generates pulse width modulation power switch control signals controlling the power section to operate in either dual or single converter mode at different frequencies in response to varying system output current demands.
