    • A shield tunneling machine having incorporated therein an earth removing apparatus which comprises a tubular casing having an earth inlet at one end and a closable earth outlet at the other end, and an earth transport conveyor rotatably provided within the casing and comprising a helically twisted strip. Unlike conventional earth removing apparatus which has a screw conveyor comprising a rotary shaft and a screw blade around the shaft, the apparatus can transport and discharge earth containing large solid fragments and therefore performs the desired function even when small in diameter, i.e. in shield diameter.

    • In a boiler having a plurality of heat exchanger stages such as a superheater, an evaporator and a preheater, disposed in a combustion gas channel between heat exchangers including an optimum catalytic reaction temperature region are a denitration catalyst layer crossing said channel and a reductant feeding device for adding a reductant such as ammonia gas at a point a little short of catalyst layer. The denitration catalyst layer comprises a number of plate-like catalyst bodies whose plate surfaces extend along the direction of flow of gas, and desirably it is honey-comb-shaped. If the boiler is a waste heat boiler, the denitration catalyst layer will be disposed between the superheater and the evaporator.

    • Bags each containing a stack of can ends and closed at its open end by being folded are fed one by one by a conveyor, and each bag is then delivered from the conveyor into a de-bagger case in a receiving position in which the case has its opening directed upward and the folded end is thereby unfolded. The bag within the de-bagger case is then adhered to the inner wall of the case by suction. The de-bagger case is subsequently turned to a discharge position in which the opening is directed downward, permitting the can ends within the bag to be moved downward by gravity into a transfer guide for guiding the can ends to a feeding duct for a seamer. The case is provided at its bottom with a mouth for injecting a pressure fluid into the case for forcing out the remaining empty bag from the case. The case is further provided near the outlet thereof with a can end retainer for holding the can ends in position when they move out from the bag.

According to the first-order balancer of an internal combustion engine of the present invention, vertical and horizontal first-order unbalanced moments arising in an internal combustion engine may be simultaneously balanced.
