    • Piezoelectric ladder filters with the following characteristics are described: A. The filter selectivity may be changed without changing the resonators and without requiring the frequencies of peak insertion loss to be changed. This type of filter will be referred to as ''''equal-resonator filter.'''' B.     • Two coaxially disposed rigid tubes are interconnected by a radially secured elastomeric spring member with a fluid chamber formed in the inner tube as well as in the outer tube. The elastomeric member is effective upon relative axial movement between the two tubes to change the volumetric relationship between the two chambers by causing fluid to flow through differently sized orifices within the inner tube. An elastomeric compression bumper is disposed axially between the tubes and upon movement between the tubes of a certain magnitude, the bumper progressively covers some or all of the orifices. The elastomeric spring member provides one or more dissimilar spring rates. Additional load carrying capacity is provided by a gas pressure chamber within the inner tube.

    • Recording electrodes of a coincidence voltage type electrographic recorder are divided into arrays. Arrays are divided into two or more groups and are interleaved so that no array is adjacent another array of the same group. Like-numbered electrodes of each array in a group are connected together. Complementary electrodes are disposed adjacent to the arrays. Each is adjacent to only one array of a group and is spaced from all other arrays of the same group. A latent image is formed at one selected recording electrode when suitable voltage is applied to that electrode, and in coincidence therewith, suitable voltage is applied to complementary electrode means adjacent to the selected recording electrode.

    • A multichannel strip chart recorder has a commutator to sequentially sample signals at a plurality of channels and apply the samples to a single-pen recording device. A spring-biased actuator holds the pen off the chart during commutation. A solenoid overcomes the spring allowing the pen to record a dot for each signal sample. Thus, each signal is recorded as a trace made up of a series of dots. Trace-identifying symbols are preprinted sequentially and repetitively along an edge of the chart in predetermined relation to the chart sprocket holes. As each symbol moves into approximate alignment with the path of the recording pen tip the solenoid action is inhibited by signals from electro-optical devices sensing the positions of sprocket holes and notches at the edge of the chart so that the trace identified with that symbol is interrupted. When the signal at one channel has higher frequency content than the signals at other channels, the commutator sequence may be arranged to sample that signal more often than the signals at other channels.
