摘要： At the transmitter side, carrier waves are modulated according to an input signal for producing relevant signal points in a signal space diagram. The input signal is divided into, two, first and second, data streams. The signal points are divided into signal point groups to which data of the first data stream are assigned. Also, data of the second data stream are assigned to the signal points of each signal point group. A difference in the transmission error rate between first and second data streams is developed by shifting the signal points to other positions in the space diagram. At the receiver side, the first and/or second data streams can be reconstructed from a received signal. In TV broadcast service, a TV signal is divided by a transmitter into, low and high, frequency band components which are designated as a first and a second data stream respectively. Upon receiving the TV signal, a receiver can reproduce only the low frequency band component or both the low and high frequency band components, depending on its capability.

摘要： A tuner part of a digital satellite broadcasting receiver includes an IF signal demodulator part and an I/Q signal demodulator part. These demodulator parts are formed on different substrates, and covered with different chassis respectively. Low-pass filters are provided between an amplifier circuit of the IF signal demodulator part and an output terminal and between an IF signal input terminal of the I/Q signal demodulator part and a baseband converter circuit respectively. Further, an AGC detector circuit for detecting the level of an IF signal for the baseband converter circuit is provided for controlling the amplifier circuit of the IF signal demodulator part by its AGC voltage.

The communication system integrates heterogeneous satellite transmission systems, local area computer networks, and the public telephone system to implement a flexible, high-speed communication system. The preferred communication dissemination system includes a broadcast server for broadcasting an information signal, a mobile base station for receiving the information signal broadcast from the broadcast server, and a local area network for distributing information received by the mobile base station. The preferred mobile base station includes a receiver for receiving information signals transmitted from a broadcast server, a network interface for distributing processed information signals, and a software proxy process for processing information signals. A software proxy process controls the dissemination of information through the network. The software proxy process provides filter and protocol functions to facilitate interconnection between heterogenous communication systems.

摘要： A satellite broadcast receiver capable of receiving audio SCPC signals is disclosed in which the receiver comprises an RF reception unit for receiving television signals and audio SCPC signals broadcast from a satellite, frequency converter for converting an RF output from said RF reception unit into an IF signal, separator for separating the output of said frequency converter into a television signal and an audio SCPC signal, a TV signal processing unit for receiving and processing a first output from the separator, an SCPC signal processing unit for receiving and processing a second output from the separator, and a selector for selecting any one of the outputs from the TV signal processing unit and said SCPC signal processing unit, thereby enabling selective reception of TV signals and audio SCPC signals broadcast from a satellite. The RF reception unit comprises an RF amplifier, and the frequency converter comprises a feedback circuit for selectively feeding the first and the second outputs of the separator back to the RF amplifier, thereby controlling a gain of the RF amplifier. The TV signal processing unit includes a video detector for receiving and detecting a television signal from the separator, an audio circuit for receiving an audio signal from the video detector, and a video circuit for receiving a video signal from the video detector. The selector comprises a switch for selecting any one of the outputs of the SCPC signal processing unit and the audio circuit.

摘要： Systems, methods, and machine-readable media are disclosed for providing an audio preview of songs and other audio elements. In some embodiments, an electronic device may operate in either a “play mode,” which allows a user to listen to songs in a normal fashion, or in a “preview mode,” which may be used to provide previews of songs to a user in succession. In some embodiments, the electronic device may seamlessly transition between play mode and preview mode. For example, the electronic device may pause a currently-playing song when the mode of operation switches from play mode to preview mode so that, if the user exits out of preview mode, the original song may be resumed from the pause point. In some embodiments, the electronic device may provide a multi-directional visual interface that allows a user to control the succession of previews provided in preview mode.
