    • A system for monitoring a plurality of communication circuits includes an impedance element configured to be switchably connected to one of the plurality of communication circuits. The impedance element is configured as a short circuit relative to the one of the plurality of communication circuits. The system includes an AC current mirror in communication with the impedance element. The system includes a monitor access element in communication with the AC current mirror. The system includes a communication circuit monitor configured to be connected to the monitor access element. To monitor the one of the plurality of communication circuits, the impedance element is switchably connected to the one of the plurality of communication circuits, thereby connecting the communication circuit monitor to the one of the plurality of communication circuits with a minimum of disruption to data communication within the one of the plurality of communication circuits.

    • A system, method and apparatus are disclosed for generating a test signal by selecting a set of frequencies for the test signal and selecting frequency sub-groups from the set of frequencies. The system generates a respective sub-group composite signal for each frequency sub-group selected from the set of frequencies and time shifts each respective sub-group composite signal in relation to other sub-group composite signals. The system then generates the test signal by summing each respective time shifted sub-group composite signal to produce the test signal. The system of the invention can be used to develop test signals for input into xDSL devices under test, and in particular, is highly beneficial when performing missing tone testing of xDSL devices.

    • This invention generally relates to the arrangements for testing subscriber loops. The invention is based on a solution wherein a test head is behind the high-pass filter of the splitter. In order that this solution is possible, the splitter, i.e. the splitter box has to contain a relay and a relay control element. When a subscriber line is to be tested the test head sends a DC pulse to the relay control element, which directs the relay to connect the subscriber loop to bypass wirings through which the test head can perform necessary testing measurements. When the testing is over the relay control element directs the relay to switch back for connecting the subscriber loop to the common port of the filters.
