摘要： Introduction guides 12 are provided above and below a sheet-introduction opening portion of a pressure-reduced chamber 10, and heating means 17 is provided between the introduction guides. Pins 112 of the emboss roller 11 are truncated cone-shaped. The ratio of the total area of the lower bases of the pins 112 to the area of the circumferential surface of the emboss roller is 0.5 or more. The rising angle θ of the pin side face, in the vertical plane including the central axis of the pins 112, is in the range from 50 degrees to 70 degrees. Furthermore, a multilayered hollow structure plate 140 is formed by attaching non-air-permeable sheets 130 onto both the front and back of a core member obtained by fusing together hollow protrusions 112 in two thermoplastic resin sheets. A sound absorbing material 150 is provided on at least one of the front and back side thereof, and small holes 114a opened in the multilayered hollow structure plate are formed in liner portions 114 and the non-air permeable sheet 130 only in the positions that matches the liner portions 114.

摘要： Sound attenuating laminates for use within vehicles are provided that include a substrate and polyurethane attached to selected portions of the substrate. The polyurethane is non-porous and serves as a barrier to attenuate sound passing through the substrate. Additional non-porous polyurethane may be added to one or more selected portions of the polyurethane layer to enhance sound attenuation characteristics in the one or more selected portions. Sound attenuating laminates for use within vehicles are provided that include a substrate and breathable polyurethane attached to selected portions of the substrate. The polyurethane serves as an absorber of sound (e.g., sound generated within a vehicle compartment). Additional breathable polyurethane may be added to one or more selected portions of the polyurethane layer to enhance sound absorption characteristics in the one or more selected portions. Porous, breathable carpet assemblies for use in vehicles, are provided and include a substrate and a porous carpet layer with breathable, porous polyurethane sandwiched therebetween. Breathable polyurethane may be applied onto the substrate second surface in one or more areas to enhance sound absorption characteristics of the carpet assembly.

A noise reduction system configured in accordance with one embodiment of the invention includes an auxetic core, a damping layer, and a constraining layer. In this embodiment, the auxetic core is supported by a structural member, and the damping layer is sandwiched between the auxetic core and the constraining layer. A method for manufacturing a structural assembly in accordance with another embodiment of the invention includes forming a stiffener by positioning a first ply of composite material against a first tool surface, positioning damping material against the first ply, and positioning a second ply of composite material against the damping material to sandwich the damping material between the first and second plies. The method can further include forming a skin by positioning a third ply of composite material against a second tool surface offset from the first tool surface, and attaching the stiffener to the skin by co-curing the first, second and third plies of composite material.

In yet another aspect to the invention, a high temperature and high pressure dispenser for filling gaps in forms is provided.
