摘要： An assembly for tethering a medical device to a delivery catheter includes a tether, a collet, and a spring-biased holding element that is coupled to a distal end of the tether and that extends around the collet, being moveable between first and second positions. At the first position, corresponding to the spring bias thereof, the holding element prevents fingers of the collet, which are configured to grip a proximal end of the device, from opening; at the second position, the collet fingers are allowed and/or caused to open. The assembly is coupled to a tubular member of the catheter, and, when the tethering assembly abuts a distal end of the catheter tubular member, a pull force applied to a proximal end the tether, which extends out from a proximal opening of the catheter, moves the holding element from the first position to the second position.

A control electronics subassembly defines the housing proximal end, and a battery subassembly defines the housing distal end. A distal fixation member extends from the housing distal end for fixing the housing distal end at an implant site. A pacing extension extends from the housing proximal end and carries a pacing cathode electrode. The pacing extension extends the pacing cathode electrode to a pacing site that is spaced apart from the implant site when the pacemaker is deployed in a patient's body.

摘要： An Implantable ElectroAcupuncture Device (IEAD) treats cardiovascular disease through application of stimulation pulses applied at at least one of acupoints EX-HN1, BL14, HT7, HT5, PC6, ST36, LI11, LU7, and LU2. The IEAD comprises an implantable, coin-sized, self-contained, leadless electroacupuncture device having at least two electrodes attached to an outside surface of its housing. The device generates stimulation pulses in accordance with a specified stimulation regimen. Power management circuitry within the device allows a primary battery, having a high internal impedance, to be used to power the device. The stimulation regimen generates stimulation pulses during a stimulation session of duration T3 minutes applied every T4 minutes. The duty cycle, or ratio T3/T4 is very low, no greater than 0.05. The low duty cycle and careful power management allow the IEAD to perform its intended function for several years.

摘要： An implantable medical device is tethered to a delivery catheter by a length of a tether, which extends through an attachment feature of the device and between a free end thereof and a secured end thereof, wherein the secured end is fixedly coupled to a tubular member of the catheter in proximity to a distal end thereof, and the free end is engaged against an inner surface of a sidewall that extends within the tubular member. The free end of the tether may be engaged against the inner surface by an enlarged distal tip of an elongate wire that extends within a lumen defined by the inner surface of the sidewall. An operator may move the distal tip of the wire out through a distal opening of the lumen, thereby pushing the free end of the tether out from engagement with the surface, to untether the device from the catheter.
