    • A semiconductor device module is provided that prevents adhesion defects from causing in bonding a semiconductor sensor chip to a sensor stage with an adhesive and improving the reliability thereof. The semiconductor device module includes a sensor stage and a semiconductor optical sensor chip mounted on the sensor stage. The sensor stage includes a U-groove formed in an upper central surface portion of a bottom wall thereof. The sensor chip is bonded to the sensor stage with a thermosetting and UV-curing adhesive coated in the U-groove. The U-groove, includes an island-shaped flat pedestal located at a central bottom portion of the U-groove for mounting the sensor chip thereon. Pins are preferably disposed on both sides of the pedestal to hold the sensor chip horizontally, and the side walls of the U-groove 3b are preferably slanted such that the adhesive coated in the U-groove is prevented from splashing to the outside.

    • A motor includes a commutator, which has twenty-four segments. Each of eight short-circuit members is connected to three of the segments. Each short-circuit member extends in an arcuate form in an angular range corresponding to arranging positions of three segments to be connected to the short-circuit member. The eight short-circuit members are laminated to form a multiple-layer structure in the axial direction of the commutator. The short-circuit members form a substantially cylindrical laminated body. The short-circuit members are formed and arranged such that the number of the layers of the laminated body is less than the number of the short-circuit members. As a result, the axial dimension of the laminated body is reduced and the miniaturization of the motor in the axial direction is achieved.

    • A motor device comprises a motor unit and a reduction unit. The motor unit comprises a yoke which is formed in a generally bottomed cylindrical shape, and a rotor having an armature and a rotary shaft. The reduction unit comprises a gear housing accommodating a reduction gear device for producing an output after reducing rotational speed of the rotor and fixed to the opening of the yoke. A commutator and brushes for the motor unit are disposed in the gear housing which is provided outside the opening of the yoke in the axial direction of the rotary shaft. The gear housing has a flange formed in a square shape, and the brushes are arranged along the diagonal lines of the square shape.

    • The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device having a matrix electrode structure in which an image elimination period for rewriting a display is shortened without sacrificing the display brightness, while suppressing flicker, a ghost image and a cross-talk on the display. In the eliminating period, a pulse voltage having a polarity opposite to that of a holding voltage imposed in an image holding period preceding the selecting period is applied to scanning electrodes, and then a lower level standard voltage is applied. The pulse voltage may be in a form of one or more bipolar pulses having a pair of pulses with opposite polarities. The eliminating period for rewriting the display is considerably shortened according to the present invention.

    • An armature for a motor has a core, which comprises a plurality of core sheets stacked together in an axial direction. Each sheet has a plurality of teeth having an extended protrusion which covers an armature winding fitted in slots. The extended protrusion may be a pair of bendable long protrusion pieces on each tooth of one sheet, and a pair of bendable short protrusion pieces on each tooth of another sheet stacked adjacently to the one sheet. Alternatively, the extended protrusion may be a pair of long protrusion piece and short protrusion piece on each tooth. The protrusion pieces are bent to cover the armature winding after winding operation, leaving only a narrow slit between the two extended protrusions. The slit is discontinuous in an axial direction of the core. Thus, the armature winding is restricted from slipping out from the slots, and cogging in torque of the motor is reduced.
