    • A capacity-variable type swash plate compressor in which a link mechanism is hardly worn and superior durability is demonstrated. According to the compressor in the invention, a link mechanism comprises a swash plate arm and first and second intermediate arms. The first and second intermediate arms include pairs of first guided surfaces extending in parallel to a virtual plane P and having back sides thereof facing each other in front and back in the direction of rotation of a drive shaft, and each are formed into a plate shape extending from the side of a lug plate to the side of a swash plate. First and second lug arms of the lug plate are formed with first and second lug-side storage recesses having first guiding surfaces. The first and second intermediate arms are stored in the first and second lug-side storage recesses.

    • A variable displacement compressor is disclosed that draws refrigerant from a suction pressure zone and discharges the refrigerant to a discharge pressure zone, and controls displacement according to a pressure in a control pressure chamber. The compressor has a cam body, pistons, a supply passage, a release passage, and an on-off valve. The inclination angle of the cam body is changeable based on the pressure in the control pressure chamber. A piston reciprocates in each cylinder bore as the cam body rotates. The supply passage supplies the refrigerant in the discharge pressure zone to the control pressure chamber. The release passage releases the refrigerant in the control pressure chamber to the suction pressure zone. The on-off valve selectively opens and closes the release passage in response to changes of the temperature. The on-off valve shuts off the release passage when the temperature is equal to or higher than a predetermined temperature.

    • A rotor is fixed to a drive shaft supported by a housing. A swash plate is supported slidably and tiltably by the drive shaft. A hinge mechanism is provided between the rotor and swash plate. The hinge mechanism comprises two rotor-side protrusions provided in the rotor and a protruding portion provided in the swash plate. The protruding portion is inserted between side faces in which the two rotor-side protrusions face each other, and perform power transfer between the rotor and swash plate by two-dimensionally abutting against a side face of one of the rotor-side protrusions. A concavity is provided in the side face of the rotor-side protrusion. Therefore, an area of the side face of the rotor-side protrusion abutting on the side face of the swash-plate-side protrusion decreases, and smooth change of discharge volume is achieved while controlling processing cost.

    • A compressor compresses gas containing misted oil. The compressor has a drive plate located in a crank chamber and mounted on a drive shaft and a piston operably coupled to the drive plate and located in a cylinder bore. The drive plate converts rotation of the drive shaft to reciprocating movement of the piston in the cylinder bore to vary the capacity of the cylinder bore. The piston compresses gas supplied to the cylinder bore and discharges the compressed gas from the compressor by way of a discharge chamber and a discharge passage. An oil separating mechanism is disposed midway in the discharge passage to separate the oil from the gas flowing in the discharge passage. A storing chamber is defined in the lower portion of the separating mechanism to store the oil separated from the gas. A supplying passage connects the storing chamber with the crank chamber to supply the oil to the crank chamber from the storing chamber. A supplying valve is disposed midway in the supplying passage. The supplying valve opens the supplying passage to supply the oil to the crank chamber from the storing chamber when the compressor is stopped.

    • The housing of a swash plate type compressor includes a suction chamber and a discharge chamber. A plurality of cylinder bores are formed in a cylinder block connected to the housing. A plurality of pistons in corresponding cylinder bores are provided such that each piston reciprocates as a function of the rotation of a rotary shaft. A valve chamber communicates with at least one of the suction chamber and discharge chamber, and is provided between the housing and the cylinder block. The valve chamber is connected to the cylinder bores via respective passages. A rotary valve is accommodated rotatably in the valve chamber. A guide groove is provided in the outer surface of the rotary valve to permit communication between each cylinder bore and the associated passage in at least one of a suction stage and a compression stage of the coolant gas. A gas passage has one of its ends connected to the guide groove, and the other end connected to either the suction chamber or discharge chamber and is provided in the rotary valve. The rotary valve is coupled to the rotary shaft by a connecting member.
