    • A system and method suitable for inspecting a semiconductor device whose terminals are formed from solder balls and protrude from a package is provided, thus enabling high-speed inspection of a semiconductor device having a plurality of pins. Metal protuberances corresponding to respective terminals projecting from the bottom of a package of a semiconductor device are provided on an interface substrate. Contact sections corresponding to the respective metal protuberances are provided within each of a plurality of slide sections. The semiconductor device is set on the slide section such that the terminals are disposed opposite the respective metal protuberances. The slide sections are slid over the interface substrate, thereby bringing the side surfaces of the terminals of the semiconductor device into contact with the contact sections. Each of the contact sections is formed from a conductive contact plate, an elastic film, and a slide guide having rigidity.

    • A memory device to perform a plurality of data transfers during a single memory cycle without extending the cycle time for memory access, and to enhance the data transfer rate.A memory array 1 has a plurality of word lines, a plurality of bit lines divided into a predetermined number of groups, and a plurality of memory cells. The bit lines are grouped based on a residue obtained by dividing a column address designating a bit line by the number of groups. The column address decoder 4 generates column addresses of the group number in accordance with the column address signal and an access order signal designating the access order for the groups. When the access order signal designates the ascending order, the bit line selection means 3 generates sequential column addresses, in a number equivalent to the group number and in the ascending order, with the column address signal serving as a reference. When the access order signal designates the descending order, the bit line selection means 3 generates sequential column addresses, in a number equivalent to the group number and in a descending order, with the column address signal serving as a reference.

    • An object of the invention is to provide a communication apparatus for use with a public telephone network, capable of securely obtaining information from an information supplying terminal device. In the apparatus, a plurality of data (DTMF signals) to be transmitted to the information supplying terminal device; a standby time from the end of transmission of the data to the beginning of transmission of the subsequent data; and judgment data representing whether a voice signal from the information supplying terminal device exists after transmission of the data are stored. In the case where on the basis of the judgment data it is judged that a voice signal exists, the data D5 to be subsequently transmitted is transmitted, after the standby time means has been timed and the termination of transmission of a voice signal has been detected in a silent period. On the other hand, in the case where on the basis of the judgment data it is judged that no voice signal exists, data D2 to be subsequently transmitted is transmitted, after the standby time has been timed. Accordingly the communication apparatus is capable of securely transmitting the data corresponding to the voice signal from the information supplying terminal device and receiving the information from the information supplying terminal device.
