    • Organosilicon compounds containing urethane groups are prepared by reacting aminofunctional organosilicon compounds containing at least one siloxane unit AR a ⁢ SiO 3 - a 2 ( I ) per molecule and at least two siloxane units of the formula XR b ⁢ SiO 3 - b 2 ( II ) in which R are monovalent, optionally substituted C1-18 hydrocarbon radicals, A is a radical —R1(—NR2—R1)z—NR2—H  (III), where R1 is a divalent C1-18 organic radical, R2 is a hydrogen atom or C1-18 hydrocarbon radical, X is a group capable of condensation, a is 0 or 1, b is 1 or 2, z is 0 or an integer from 1 to 10, are reacted with organic carbonates (2) containing a group of the formula —O—C(═O)O—  (IV), and, in a second stage, the first stage reaction products are optionally condensed with silanes (3) bearing groups capable of condensation, to give higher molecular weight organosilicon compounds containing urethane groups.

    • Hydrophilic siloxane copolymers are prepared by (a) reacting organopolysiloxanes having at least one Si-bonded hydrogen atom with substantially linear oligomeric or polymeric compounds of formula R1-(A-CnH2n)m-A1-H  (I) where R1 is a monovalent optionally substituted, hydrosilylatable hydrocarbyl radical, A is a bivalent polar organic radical selected from —O—, —C(O)—O—, —O—C(O)—, —O—C(O)—O—, —C(O)—NH—, —NH—C(O)—, urethane radicals and urea radicals, A1 is a bivalent polar organic radical selected from —O—, —NH— and —NR′—, n is an integer from 1 to 20, and m is zero or a positive integer, (b) reacting the resulting intermediate with organic compounds which have two or more isocyanate groups, in the presence of further organic compounds (6) reactive toward isocyanate groups and containing at least one tertiary amine group, and (c) quaternizing the amino-group-containing intermediate from step (b) with an alkylating agent (8), with the proviso that the water content of the compounds (1) and (2) is lower than 2000 weight ppm.

    • The invention relates to novel organosilicon compounds comprising ammonium groups, said compounds being soluble in isopropanol or diethylene glycol monobutyl ether, and containing: a) at least one structural unit of general formula (I) wherein R2 represents a bivalent organic radical containing a hydroxyl group which is conditioned by a ring opening of an epoxy group; R3 represents a hydrogen atom or a monovalent hydrocarbon radical comprising 1 to 60 carbon atoms per radical, and can be split or substituted by at least one separate heteroatom chosen from the group consisting of nitrogen, oxygen, sulphur or halogen atoms; R4 represents a bivalent hydrocarbon radical comprising 1 to 10 carbon atoms per radical; n represents 0 or a whole number from 1 to 10; m represents a whole number from 1 to the total number of nitrogen atoms in (I); x represents 0 or 1; and X− represents an anion, b) at least one siloxane unit of general formula (II), and c) at least two siloxane units of general formula (III) wherein R, R1, a and b have the designation cited in patent claim (1), provided that the siloxane units of formula (III) are connected to the structural unit of formula (I) via the Si atoms via the R2 radicals.
